The Underground Realm of the Gnomes

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm a young composer with an AA in music composition from my community college. I thought I'd introduce myself with this guitar duet I composed, and recorded on electric guitar. Please let me know how it makes you feel! Also, I worry that something went wrong with the mp3 encoding process, so let me know if you detect any audio glitches.

The Underground Realm of the Gnomes

Nothing like cold pizza in the morning for breakfast

As for the piece, it sounds like something the gnomes play to chill out from all their hard work mining underground -- a folk song, or something of the sort. It's really chill, that's for sure.

It's ok, but after a while, the tired, languid pace of the duet started to get tedious and exhausting for me. Why not add some spice? Make the gnomes punch drunk, let them celebrate, etc. The way the piece just sort of fizzles out after nothing but a slow, drained atmosphere leaves me...unsatisfied. The reason for this is because I envision a gnome plucking on his strings on break, and after he's just done 2 minutes of soft plucking, it's back to the old grind. Give the poor guy a reason to live!

( As for any glitches, I didn't notice any, so that's a plus! :D )

Thanks for sharing :)

An interesting sort of piece, I love your guitar tone, agreeing with SOAV, let us have some variation! Or if you dont want to spoil the atmosphere of it maybe add more contrasting movements? Otherwise well done, i like!
