i did search google and it gave me all these programs saying they were the real deal but i would get on two days later and it would say my trial has expired. but thanks anyway

Also, iTunes is free.

My fave converter is Format Factory. It's open source so there's no scams and it does a better job at conversion (I've found) than even Audacity and iTunes.

iTunes has the best mp3-conversion if not paying a heck of a lot for apps like Barbabatch.

For the future: avoid wma - it's a deadbeat format, so use wav files instead

I've heard pretty reasonable arguments that iTunes ruins sound files because it applies its own mixer to the file. Or so I've been told.

Audacity with the LAME library should do the trick.

you're talking about iTunes playback, and I'm telling you about iTunes conversion

audacity rocks :) It's really a good program for freeware. I now use Reaper, it has a lot more functions, you first need to learn to work with it, though... :P

itunes isn't too shabby, but EAC's better.
