Nah, seriously.. I don't mind the music he performs, I'm fairly sure that it's not his original work though; so I lost a bit of respect there.

It's pretty catchy and I've heard quite a few arrangements of them and they're all pretty cool. He's also a pretty good guy by what I've seen in interviews, I've got nothing against him.

I agree. I mean I'm not a huge fan or anything, but but he's a decent performer, and I'm sure he's a nice guy. I saw a funny clip he made along with the website "funny or die" and it was pretty funny. Like you i have nothing against him.

Seriously? What are your professional view on Justin Biebers work?

What's your opinion of him?

pure pop, he is a star in that respect only. he may grow though to something else if the industry doesn't ruin him and his music.

i think its pretty amazing to write music that connects to so much young people at this age, so yeah kudos to him.

but i will never go to his concert and will try to avoid teaching his songs, sorry.

Bland, derivative, and disposable are three adjectives that spring to mind. Probably a decent enough chap, but the instant obliteration of his music would cause little loss to Western culture. Actually, we should be cautious in blaming Mr Beiber personally for much, as like most commercial musicians he is is simply a front figure for a group of songwriters, producers and marketeers whom he makes money for.

Agreed.

Seriously, do we blame the inexperienced teen for taking up an offer of attractive wealth and fame? Maybe a little. Or the many adults behind the scenes who have their own agenda? :musicwhistle: More so, in my opinion.

It's not just the people writing his music and doing all the commercial stuff either.

And then:

That people would ask practically a kid about things like ABORTION is just plain insane, and they were obviously fishing for him to say something embarrassingly ill-thought-out. Seriously, that's not very classy, at all.

Yes, the music he sings is mostly annoying and kind of bad, (Like "Baby Baby" -- Oh God, that song really is one of the worst things to come out in a long time :() but fortunately it's pretty easy to escape and stay away from. At least, that's been my experience. :)

I'd probably like Bieber better if he actually wrote the stuff he performs. He's just the model used to sale records and make profit. There's really no artistry in his stuff at all imo. So, not really a fan - a lot better bands/musicians to listen to.

So, do you like the music or not? (disregard who wrote it)

If I liked it, I would listen to it. Whether he wrote it or not.

But, personally, I think it sounds hideous.

A certain CSI episode springs to mind...

To be quite honest, I'm no fan of Bieber and I never were. He's a pop singer, so that kind of defaults him to my "ignore list", so to speak. I've listened to a few of the songs he's performed & I think I can safely say that there is nothing new or interesting going on here, and that we should all move along.

I tend to only respect artists who write their own music (or collaborate). His music at the moment is simply someone trying to rake in money. Once he writes his own stuff, I may begin to listen out for that. Perhaps the lyrics will be more meaningful, or like any good artist he'll experiment. For now though, he's just another bland pop artist whose songs are annoying, rather than enjoyable and thought provoking.
