A Boy And His Griffin

Little adventure piece I wrote. Trying to convey that whole "flight" feeling. Let me know what you think!

A Boy And His Griffin

A nice, if simple, little cue. It brings images from How To Train Your Dragon to mind.

The arpeggios in the strings and the majestic horns especially add to the feeling of soaring over some fantasy land. The little flute interjections make me think of a griffin bellowing/roaring/whatever-sound-griffins-make-ing.

Not a whole lot to comment on, but it works and it works quite well. :)

Very good orchestration. I would like to set up a studio that would have the same orchestral capabilities. What products, software, etc. do you use in you home studio? Also, any hints on how to set up a home studio with the complete ability to orchestrate? I presently use Finale, but the sounds are blah! I am rather new at this an would appreciate any help.

Wonderful snippet!

Like POW said, the orchestration suits the intended scenario like a glove. This would be perfect in a movie scene.

Kudos!

Excellent opening!

What libraries are you using? I'm looking for something that can produce convincing fast strings, which is apparently really hard to do. The only thing not so convincing is the fast vocal lines in your piece.

Definite How to Train Your Dragon feel.

Beautiful, Adamich. Really nice arrangement. Great brass over the string lines. You cover a lot of territory in such a short amount of time. Amazing.

My one complaint is that 0:53 till the end feels a bit like it was tagged on. The climax of your piece was right before that, and 0:53 afterwards feels like a lesser version of that. I understand your desire to come down in volume afterwards but I don't think that was the right way to do it.

Give the brass line to a viola, add a rit. and make it quieter. That's what I'm feeling.

Great work, Adamich!

majestic and yet in a princely kind of mood, very rich sound and good drama impacts. a pro was at work here no doubt ;)

my only nag is that swirling choirs on 0:33-something about the sequencing felt tiny bit off to my over critical ear(please forgive her).

cheers!

Fantastic. I can't really say anything that hasn't been said already. Great work!

Yep, great fantasy feel to it. You really captured "flight and adventure" with this piece.

hey , very nice piece , i loved the harp gliss. very nice feeling to it , the change in velocities during variation of melodies is very nice . the strings lines specially the high tone lines was the best in this piece for me !

very nice piece !

This is incredible! Great fantasy feel to it and nice change up of driving sections to emotional ones. The melodies in here rival any of the great movie music themes of today. I'm sure I will listen to this over and over!
