Another piece work in progress

I'm recently working on the idea that I found before. I would like to hear what do you think about it. All comments are welcome :)

Thanks

Well, you know what I think, the first 18 seconds are to be sent to the trash can, the next chords sound better, then "Harem" and "War" parts are very fine, keep writing, maybe when you have more material you can cut something, but not yet.

It sounds a bit like John Williams in Star Wars.- The beginning is too typical; something new and interesting needs to happen. I like one of the middle parts where it sounds more Eastern European - you should expand on that type of music; I imagine many interesting ideas could come of it. Also: what is this music for? what is it supposed to depict? does it have a purpose? what do you want your audience to think?

Yeah SYS. Thanks for your comments and ideas. I dont think beginning is too bad :(

Yup I know it sounds like a bit Star Wars music. I was inspired by that piece at the beginning

but then it turned out a bit different. I should expand it 1 more minute and finish at 3.30 or maybe 4.30. What kind of new and insteresting stuff can be happen at the beginning? and what's your interesting ideas that you imagine?

I'm writing it for my production demo reel. So its not written for a scene or something.

Well haha, don't feel too bad for that jem, I constantly delete segments like those, I usually reject more than a half of what I write, I just feel is not good enough and don't hesitate in delete it, but you delete it ONLY if you feel that way, if you don't, leave it there :)

Oh well, I was doing that deleting thing too but I tend to not do a lot anymore. Since I compose slow it becomes impossible if I delete more than what I wrote

Why should the first 18 seconds be thrown away? My little devil scherzo starts terribly "typically", and it doesn't make it worse. If that's what he wants as an intro, let him have it. Why should it ALWAYS be original?

I think it works fine as a soundtrack. The war-like part is very powerful. Well done.

It's not that it's too typical. It's just not very good. I'm sure there are more interesting things to do than a bunch of tonic and dominant chords. You're not obligated to change it, but more than one person has expressed distaste at the current introduction.

Thanks for your comments guys. I think Berlioz said it well.

I like the war parts too myself :)

I like it. It would make a fine soundtrack for an action film or video game if that's what you're aiming for.
