May 11, 201114 yr A little Scherzo that i wrote today, i actually got the idea in my head while i was in the shower so i sung it untill i was done so i didnt forget it lol Scherzo
May 12, 201114 yr Very nice! I loved it from start to finish  I love the tempo choice -- I thought it was going to be much slower, looking at the score (at this speed, shouldn't it actually be in 3/8 time?), so the speed caught me completely off guard. And I loved it! It would look technically very impressive for the performance, but without sacrificing the "musicality" and personality of the piece. (The grace-note motif was a good choice.) I also liked your somewhat slower section starting at measure 40, as well as your voicing in measure 58. The cresc. towards the end to lead up to your A theme was also well done ... ... Well, what else can I say? I just plain liked it :dunno: I can't think of anything to critique. Maybe someone else can think of something reasonable. (On a side note, this is a strange thing to hum to yourself in the shower :P The melody's pretty complicated.) Thanks for sharing!
May 17, 201114 yr Author thanks for the feedback. glad u enjoyed it, ive always been a fan of scherzos and this is the first one ive ever written. as for the time signature scherzo are normally always written in 3/4
May 19, 201114 yr Hi Stefan :) Yes, usually they are written in 3/4, but here 3/8 would work just as well. 'course then you'd have to go back, re-do all the notes... so just leave it :P The style is very Beethoven-y, but a bit lighter than that.. it's got a nice flow to it, the changes of keys work really well, it's really a nice little work... can't think of much else to say, but it's a bit out of date, but that doesn't mean I don't like it :) Thanks for posting! Heckel (ps. Wolf: LOL)
June 13, 201114 yr Haha! I do the same thing! The idea comes to me as I shower, and I keep singing it because I have no other way of remembering until I reach a keyboard. xD Very playful, and I agree that it sounds like a light Beethoven. I like your melodies, man. Keep up!
