Fight the Darkness & My Demons Are Smiling

Featured Replies

Hey guys! Two new tracks here.First one is titled Fight the Darkness. Pretty much as generic a piece as you can get. No real themes, just big fun.Second piece is titled My Demons Are Smiling. Had a blast with this one. I have two small themes in it. The beginning chromatic theme, then a basic main motif. Finally, putting the two together at the end. Let me know what you think!~Jon

Fight the Darkness & My Demons Are Smiling

hey jon, long time(as usual to us  )!

nice blast off, and i love the new counterpoint technique(0:50-1:10), also you seem to make diminished chords sound so epic. are these EWQL choir? great movement in 0:30, i dig these thing.

be careful from those mechanical hissing(the word builder can be a drag) also when the drums starts rolling, check mix with the drums abit, some of the frequencies gets too muddy?

the second track has a really strong motif, and that combination you've said works really well on the impact, good feel there!

what did you use for that ominous clicking music box?

that's really the "christ" sound. this music is out of place anywhere. unbelievable. I can not tell you what. when I hear such a thing, always feel that I should be a nono for artists like you.

what's YOUR problem?

Your sound fonts are amazing! What do you use? Sound so real. I especially love your french horns and choir, holy...

It makes your piece sound like Danny Elfman. Very very nice!

Thanks everyone for the replies!

J: I'm glad you liked em :]. Ya, the hissing really came out. I was going to put more syllabels that didn't include 's' at the end (nos, sus, etc) because of the hissings, but I got kind of lazy. For the second track, I'm not quite sure what I used for the ominous clicking. I was using True Strike, and it might have been in the various percussion section.

Nimrodia: Christ sound? Tell me more.

Sepharite: Thank you so much! Horns are ProjectSam Brass Classic. Great vst bank.

Hey Jon! It's been a while =).

First track is good, dark fun. I think you could have more percussion at 0:48 to bring out the cool rhythms. Watch out for distortion at 0:33.

My Demons Are Smiling went down very smooth. Much more thematic than the first track but still very familiar in terms of orchestration and feel.

Sweet business, Jon!
