Finale 2011 - Adding Vocal Parts To Instrument Parts

Featured Replies

I'm writing a marching show where I want to have the instrumentalists sing at a certain point, and I would like to insert the melody into each staff... but the trick is, I want it in CONCERT PITCH like a vocal score. Is there a way to make Finale just do a PORTION of the score in concert pitch and keep the rest of the score the regular instrument pitches?

Yes, you take off the transposition for the staff you don't want transposed

This seems like a simple solution. Just change the staff to Concert Pitch and write a note above it saying that it is in concert pitch. The other thing you could do is create a second stave above the original and notate concert pitches while keeping the original stave transposed. You can then hide the second staff when it is not needed.
