  • NathanHathawayAdams You did a fine job telling the general story. Unfortunately, I have never fulfilled ultimate nerdiness and I don't know all my superheros, sad childhood? I know :( so I don't know

  • Well this set of entries were, on the whole, very good stuff, so it required a lot of time to review everything thoroughly. Thanks to everyone for their patience!

  • Winds and Brass aren't acoustic instruments now?

Should I post the score? Finale made it basically impossible to read.......

Well, the neatness of the score is part of the judging criteria. If you don't have a score, then we can't give you those points.

Does the 5 different instrument thing stand strong? I missed that part and recorded a piece with 3 different kinds of acoustic instrument.

To be honest, that will be up to each individual Judge. You may just get a couple of points off in the Instrumentation category.

Ok - thanks.

Here's my entry.

Woot! Entries coming in! Keep 'em coming. :D

Morivou, were wind instruments and horns allowed in this one? I thought it was only for acoustic instruments. I would have added winds and horns in mine if I knew they could be used. :hmmm:

I'm pretty sure any orchestral instrument could be used  ... I'm also pretty sure that Bachian's piece already meets the minimum requirements, though.

Correct, Austenite, as usual.

Just no digital instruments.

Morivou, ah, ok. You said:

You MUST USE acoustic instruments. But, there is no limit to the number of instruments you may use. In fact, you MUST use more than 5 different TYPES of instruments. So, 5 cellos won't cut it. But, 2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello, 1 double bass, and a piano would.

I thought that meant no winds or brasses.

Winds and Brass aren't acoustic instruments now?

Last time I checked, winds and brass instruments are acoustic. And to be honest, I'm not sure if I would want to play an electric french horn.

heheh. :) Yup.

The whole violin, viola, cello, double bass thing threw me off. Took that as no wind instruments. All is well.

Here is the link to my piece. I still have to write the synopsis of it, but I will post that nearer to the end of the month ok? Link:http://www.youngcomposers.com/music/2858/july-competition-noah-and-the-ark-external-link/

I apologize but I'm out. My Sibelius is crashing my laptop. Don't know what to do about it :(

Post something here and they will help you: http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/chat/chat.pl?groupid=3

Thank you, Justin for the help! :)

Hey just wondering, when do we find out what the theme of the August Competition Contest is?

I would assume we find out in August...
