Fiddlers' Embandment

Featured Replies

Here's my 1st composition, which is based on a story I made up of a band of folk musicians gathering together to play music.  I wrote music before; this one happened to be what I consider the first "complete" composition which can be called that.  This is a gift to my middle school music teacher, who is really fond of fiddling music.  Please share me your thoughts on this if you can!

It really captures the spirit of adventure. At first I thought it was a piece for violin or fiddle, but it's for string ensemble.

The sound is not bad (is it from Garritan?).

It sounds like modal (myxolidian?), which goes well with this style.

I I were you I would write a "suite" for string ensemble with some short pieces like this one.

Thanks, Luis!  Yes, I did use Garritan for this sound recording, the one that came with my composition software.  I've always thought about making a fiddling suite with this piece as the first movement.  I have another fiddling piece similar to this one which will be posted someday.
