December 10, 20169 yr Here is a piece for seven-part string ensemble about a poem that I wrote. Let me know what you think!
December 11, 20169 yr Interesting. It's not a minimalist piece so the rather hefty use of held notes was a bit of a turn off. I also wished you played with the glissandi more! That would have been awesome. Great chord structures in this one.
December 19, 20169 yr No relation at all to it's coincidentally close timing to the new Star Wars movie? :P I agree with Monarcheon about the long held notes. I feel that it made the piece lose some of its direction. Also in m.33 when it goes from the violin section to 2nd viola as a transition, to my ear I don't think it works. It just sounds odd and disjointed. I would say around m. 40 onward the piece really finds its groove though and everything fits together nicely.
