Monarcheon Posted February 3, 2017 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Crossed voices passing the drone is a bad idea is wanting the thing to sound epic since it proves there's something lower than the bass; not good. The high A in the section after the beginning is really loud and could use some more stretches in terms of dynamics. Everything up to 1:07 sounded like a pretty nice intro and the stuff that came after started really promising, but it cut out way too early. Don't end there; make it feel like a legend, a story! Gustav Johnson Posted February 5, 2017 Share Posted February 5, 2017 I like your rhythm ostinatoes, they add a lot to the motion of the piece. Your drone was a little weird at times harmonically, so review your work to emphasize the moments it helps your music and minimize the moments it weakens your music. The middle section was a little out of place for me, like it was wandering somewhere and I wasn't sure where. Adding something to tie it together would help me understand it better as a listener.
