May 23, 20178 yr Hi, very nice piece. I would say it's Mediterranean. There are many scales linked to the area. Some of them sound here (Phrygyan major?, F melodic minor). Although the scales make that music from different parts around the Mediterranean Sea sound similar, they're not the same. Your work has a more Eastern sound than Spanish, although you use a prototypycal Spanish instrument: las castañuelas (castenets). It sounds a bit as a tango or, I would say, as an Habanera. In fact, it's a dance. The most representative scale-mode in traditional Spanish music is the Phrygian Dominant, but there are others. Anyway, it's very beautiful... I love it.
May 23, 20178 yr Sounds like a mixture of Arabian Desert music (or as mentioned above Mediterranean) and Spanish. They mix beautifully. It feels like background music for some old comedy film.
