La Florida Amelia

Featured Replies

An Amelia is an ornamental tree I have in my garden.

(The score and audio has been changed a little. There was a mistake in a note that Monarcheon found, and m. 32 was unnecessary)..

Lovely. Only measures that threw me off were mm. 23 and 32; 23 because of the G vs. Gb I'm not sure was intentional, and 32 because of the stillness of the progression highlighted rather basically by the right hand unlike the wonderful motion of the rest of the piece. Modulations were spot on. :)

Thanks, that was a mistake, I'll fix it. In this case the cord can be Eb or Ebm, but not both... (In other context I wouldn't mind...).

Modulation took some time to think ... The second part (m. 18...) is a reflection of the previous one (a fashionable stuff, not new, I like to experiment with). But when I mirrored the part following the tonic-dominant axis (Ab - Eb) it was strange, and I transposed the inverted part a second high. Well, sometimes I like to explain a bit what I'm doing. ....

And yes, m. 32 is out of place, there's no need to prolong the tonic so long. Out.

Thanks again, you have a wonderful ear!

Sorry I'm late. It's nice. It just feels a little too short and incomplete.

Why? Short.... it is.

But I don't feel it incomplete. I said what I wanted and that's all.

Okay. I'm nuts...

No, I don't think so.... It's just that sometimes I only want to express something very specific, and the length of the piece is secondary.

7/8 time and 7 flats... you are not fooling around..   Actually very enjoyable..  and the time signature is great..  I had trouble counting it out myself..  (I need more practice.)  Melodically - right on..  you never cease to surprise me, at your technical processes of your varied offerings.
