Here’s a song I wrote. The flute-y thing is the vocal melody guide.

Don’t know how the levels sound on any other system than my pc and iPad.

I post my stuff at box.com. Here’s the link:

It sounds OK. I feel it as a "retro" piece, like in the 70's pop music.

It's very lovely, One thing you might consider is to alter bass part a bit.. Have it hold some whole notes here and there.  Pacing (rhythm of notes),  altering a part to have whole, half, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16ths.  So with a handful of instruments, and they are altering around with the pacing of their delivery. You constantly hold the listener's attention..

ALSO, it is PERFECTLY fine the way it is.  Sounds very Beatle's.. (which I consider a high complement)..  Love the 'slide guitar' like instrument.  Excellent parts..  Great chords too, their sophistication, matches the playing..  Quite good work.

markstyles,

Thanks for the kind words. I'm a huge Beatles guy and am flattered that you can hear the influence. I can't escape the power of the Beatles music.. and I never wish too escape it. The Beatles to me are the essence of all classical music crammed into bite-sized bits. I'm naturally drawn to artists with heavy Beatles roots i.e. Gilbert O'Sullivan, Chicago, ELO, Billy Joel to name a few.
