Prelude for violin, need feedback from violinist :3.

 I always wanted to write something for violin because is one of my favorite instruments allong with guitar and piano, so I decided to write a preludio and allegro (that was some time ago).

But when I showed it to one friend of mine who is a violinist, she said that more than a prelude it feels like and etude because of the very high notes in measures 12,13,28,29,56 and 57.

So, i would like a second, third etc opinion about that.

For all the violinist out there, are those notes that hard to play, and how is the prelude overall?. Thanks in advance for all the comments :3.

Not being a violinist I also take a great interest in the instrument and can see no performance problems with that. I don't think you need to put in bow stroke indications since the phrasing says it all. Altogether a nice piece, lyrical that gives the player a fair scope for expression.

I liked the Neapolitan 6th in root position in the harmony although it would have more bite if landing on the dominant! However that wouldn't fit in with the melody. Keeping the piano part simple showcases the violin well.  Perhaps 'up' the violin dynamics a level in bars 45 - 48, ending up on an mf in 49 to be sure the piano doesn't drown out those nice detaché notes. [Edit] Just worked out that those high notes would have to be played in 7th position (or I would, anywyay) but they're at a moderate speed and should be possible for a violinist around Grade 6 or 7 (ABRSM grades).[/edit]

(ps I play viola of a standard that I could play that at a 5th lower without trouble.)

Oh thanks for pointing that out, hearing that makes me happy :3.

I will continue in composing this when i get some inspiration for the allegro xd.
