Prelude in D major

Here is the fifth prelude in my set. A very virtuosic prelude. as I view D major as the virtuosos key. also quite heavy and at least in my opinion fun to listen too.

That's a nice prelude! 

It reminds me somehow to the opening of La Campanella from Liszt on a motif from Paganini's violin concerto. Maybe because of the high figures, though the style is completely different.

Very beautiful, I love the pastoral galloping sort of feel (at least that’s what I got). The chromatic opening in the melody reinforces this especially, and the modulation you use in very interesting. Based on this I’m very excited for you to publish the rest of your preludes. If I was playing this one however I would probably be inclined to go slower than the recording you’ve provided, so as the emphasize the left hand pattern a bit more and to make the rolled chords in Measure 8 and elsewhere more distinct.

I agree somewhat. the digital rendition is just an approximation of how I want it too sound. in a real performance I'd request a lot more free tempo and rubato. especially with the rolling chords. however for the main theme I would be relatively firm on the tempo I selected.
