Prelude in D minor

Featured Replies

My sixth prelude in my set of each key. Another virtuosic prelude which is more unstable but still tonal. featuring twists and lots of chromaticism.Prelude in D minor.pdf

Changed the final section of the prelude at suggestion. please enjoy!

I can clearly see where you got inspiration from haha

Although this is a short piece, I think a little variation could make it a lot more interesting (for example the melody and its accompaniment switching hands) and at least a bit less tiring to play

Also you could make use of octaves in the bass like you did in your D major prelude and full chords within the melody to form a clear climax(?)  (idk just my opinion)

Thats a very good suggestion towards the end and I may edit it later when I come back to it. which I plan to do once ive finished the set.

Yes that was the inspiration for this piece though I think ive made enough distinctions to call it my own

I really like this.  Nothing wrong with sounding like Rach 😀
