great part writing, love the interplay

I like it, and for sure I will be great fun for musicians to play it :). Very nice counterpoint. The main theme with variations works pretty well with this kind of texture. Is it a fugue? It has a strong feeling of the different parts following each other, like in a fugue

congratulations!

Thank you! It is not a fugue, nor are there any fugato passages, although there are places where imitation is employed -- though it is far from exact imitation.
