Minuet in A

Featured Replies

Does the theme sound more like its in D major because of the G natural used at the start?

Hi, that's a very nice minuet. I like the passing harmony you use on bar 1 and 3 beetween the rough chord and its first inversion. That's very typical in galant style and I like those passing harmonies a lot and use them myself quite often.

I also like how you added some more interesting inflections that in your previous minuet and trio in GM.

Congratulations! 🙂

While starting on V/IV is not unheard of, it does create a sticky situation on how to prepare the end of the B section. The end might benefit from a V7 instead of just V to drill that home.

Nah, doesn't sound like D, you only use the G nat to go with the chord, then you repeat the phrase over A. Plus your chord progression all points towards A.

Lovely minuet!!
