Fast and happy piece for 2 Pianos

Featured Replies

Hello my fellow composers,

I would love to hear your thoughts on my new piece:

It is a very happy and fast piece (and admittedly very hard to play).

Thanks for taking the time to listen!

Beautiful and interesting. I like the transitions between parts, well done.

Hi!  Nice job!  I enjoyed the various chord changes that pivot around one note which stays the same.  The different patterns and tremolos were cool too.  In measures 36 and 115 you have a chromatic gliss which seems like it can only be achieved by a computer because playing the chromatic scale at that speed seems impossible (at least for me).  Maybe you are also a piano player and disagree.  It might work if you have two hands on one run and one hand glissandos down the white keys while the other simultaneously glissandos the black keys.  Just an idea for how to make that realistic.  Also I think usually the glissando would just be written as a giant 18-tuplet.  Enjoyable overall though.  The slow section was a nice contrast - just seemed short.  Thanks for the music!

Hi, that's nice. I sounds to me some minimalism mixed with some impressionist, interesting contrasting rythms 🙂

Are you inspired by a certain style or composer?

Beautiful work here. I love the rhythmic tactics you deploy that drive the entire piece. With two pianos, I maybe would have liked a bit more melody, but I understand the rhythm being crucial as the dominant motif. The thick harmony was a treat too, well done!
