Lacrimosa from my Requiem - organ transcription

Featured Replies

I've been toying around with older works and transcribing some of them for organ.  This is the Lacrimosa movement from my Requiem which I thought would work well in such a transcription.  The original piece for chorus can be found here with the other completed movements:

I like this concept of instrumental Requiem, particularly for a solo instrument. It's a different way to express something. This piece works very well, and retains the mood of a requiem.

I added a version with both flute and reed stops.... not sure if it better but I wanted to have to some timbre variety.

I don't have anything critical to say, so sorry for the lack of constructive feedback. I just wanted to say that I love this, it's something I would add to my playlist of songs I regularly listen to. Great work, and well done!

Thank you!  I've really taken to admire the organ, as Mozart said, it's truly the "king of instruments."

Thanks so much!
