September 3, 20205 yr This is my "Soliloquy for Violoncello No. 9", composed on July 22, 2013, as performed and recorded by me today.
September 17, 20205 yr A note on the playing... make sure you're following your own music rhythmically. Lots of held notes get shortchanged or overcharged. Musically, it has many outbursts, but I don't feel like your middle section has a lot to play off of besides the chromatic enclosure to the major third of the following chord. It almost sounds like a binary form was primary with an addition.

I guess as a performer I gave myself some liberty in the interpretation of the score.... But I'll try to take note of it in the future, to keep closer to the notes rhythmically. Regarding the music, I had composed it some time ago. So I don't remember very much about the creative process. Concerning this and the preceding soliloquy for violoncello (No. 8), I remember that I had aimed to compose simple pieces for violoncello.
