September 28, 20205 yr Hi everyone! This is a more recent Gavotte that I composed in just the past week. It's for a string orchestra. Let me know what you think! I have a much longer and more challenging Gavotte in C in my archives that I composed years ago but that one is not finished yet. This one is a bit more modest in form and virtuosity. Any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks - I don't know if I can imagine one of these dances in a larger ensemble than this. Maybe only by adding period instruments like the harpsichord which I don't want to do LoL.
June 21, 20233 yr Hi Peter, I am digging your older works here since I feel tired keep reviewing new works here LOL!!! I love the energy in this piece which fits well to a Gavotte. I think your music always has great energy in it, maybe they reflect your personality as well? I love your irregular phrasing here, and your usage of A natural/B double flat creates great effect here. This one is for sure "a bit more modest in form and virtuosity", but it achieves great effect and who cares about the form and virtuosity lol. Thanks for sharing! Henry
June 21, 20233 yr I really like that it sounds very direct but at the same time very rich because of the oblique and contrary counterpoint.

(nice)I would first like to provide a description on 'Gavotte'. I have written this myself. 'Gavotte' is a French dance that originates from the word 'Gavot', a folk dance. just like the Polonaise from Poland, or the 英歌 from China. Gavottes are usually in duple or quadruple time. Some of my favourite Gavottes are: Saint Saens Gavotte in C Moll Cecile Chaminade Gavotte in A MollJohann Sebastian Bach Gavotte from French Suite No.3 in B Moll. That was my description of the 'Gavotte' as a dance, overall, as well as my favourite picks. The following will be a loose analysis of your piece.<Not done yet!!!>

Short length of work make me demands more parts. I'd like to hear your work more.1. If You want not to make audience don't be listened your work's phrase cut by progress, All of VOCI(I don't know this word in english) must not be ended and started with consiquently.2. If your work's style is not flaoting tonal, tonal's All of part must be related. and All of phrase is good to have architecture of clause in every phrase.Ex=>(a-a'-b-a) or (a-a'-b-a) + (a-b-a-b). Too many stuff is not required. Recycle the stuff what already used.I'd like to my advice may be help for your works. Thank you for making me listened your work!
