Problem with following your own content

Featured Replies

I have changed the system settings to allow new topics posted by members to be automatically followed so they're automatically notified when people reply to their topics.  But apparently, this change only takes effect for members who register after this change was made.  If you want to be notified when people reply to your topics (if like me you often forget to toggle the "follow" button at the bottom of your new topic), go to Account -> Account Settings -> Notification Settings -> Followed Content and click to follow new topics posted by you.

Thanks!

There's a secret to earn 2 more exp tho: when you have automatically followed a content, you can follow the topic again manually and you will receive 2 exp more!!!

I'm not sure if this trick works with your own topics?  I know you get a certain number of points for starting a new topic, but don't know if following it after the fact gives you more points or not.

It works! When you autofollow you get 10 exp for posting a new topic, but you will get 2 more when you just maually press the follow button!

Yeah but you don't want to encourage people to do that, since the whole point of automatically following your own content is so that you don't forget to toggle the "follow" button when you make a new topic.  If you forget then you don't get notified if people reply to your topic ... 😕

I love the auto follow, but clicking the follow button again is just a means to earn more exp for me haha!

Is it still the same?

If you registered after July 17th, 2022 then you're set to follow your own content automatically.
