August 7, 20223 yr Author I think Satie was fonder of modal and multimodal music, although he wrote many different things. Perhaps this is nearer to Debussy (differences aside) because of the use of quartal harmony and the whole tone scale (or Messiaen's 1st mode).
August 7, 20223 yr It's the way you use the space in the work. Yes, you could say Debussy, absolutely; yet for me, there is hollow ring that reminds me of Satie.
August 26, 20223 yr Wow, this is really interesting. I had to give this a few listens to feel like I caught everything. To me you blended beauty and dissonance really well with this one.
