Dustin Hahn
I was wondering if there is some type of choir sample that can actually sing the lyrics you type into a score in finale. Is there a realistic sounding choir sample out there somewhere that can do that? Thank you.
Marius
Yes, it's called EWQL Symphonic Choirs. It's bloody expensive and hard to use, but it's the most realistic choir sample library ever made and it's the top of the line. I'd get it now while it's at this half-price deal. Check out a brief sample (without words) HERE. Check out their site HERE.

Dustin Hahn
That's simply wonderful! Is it possible to have them sing in a Finale score? I need a choir to sing with an orchestra accompaning them.
Marius
I use it with Finale, but it won't sing the lyrics in the Finale file, you have to do things differently - like I said, it's pretty complicated to use.

How do you get it to sing the lyrics in the right places. I understand that you have to do that in a different window. Can one master this software to the poit where it is no trouble? SHEKHAR
You Americans have the money to buy anything :glare: How many country do visit my boy ? It is like that in most of those 200 odd countries in this wretched planet. Soon the "Rich-Poor divide" is going to be measured in light-years. More so in my beloved India. Dustin Hahn
One more question: Is there a way to hear the orchestra accompaniment while in the program that lets you wright the lyrics for the different choir sections?
SHEKHAR
I quote M_S_D : " Long live Portugal. In no other country can you go buy fruit to an illiterate old woman by a dirty harbor near the river and cross the street into a shiny mall, cultural advertisements splattered everywhere." How many country do visit my boy ? It is like that in most of those 200 odd countries in this wretched planet. Soon the "Rich-Poor divide" is going to be measured in light-years. Marius
One more question: Is there a way to hear the orchestra accompaniment while in the program that lets you wright the lyrics for the different choir sections? Yeah, you can do that within Finale; the choir program doesn't open instead of Finale, it opens along with it. So in that window you tell the choir what to sing in terms of words, and in Finale you have the notes that they sing - so if you've got the orchestra in the same file as the choir then it'll all play back together. :)
Dustin Hahn
...just not with the lyrics?
Marius
No no, with the lyrics too! Here, let me try to be as clear as I can: so you have finale open with the file that has the orchestra and choir parts written along with the lyrics as they appear on the score. Then in a seperate window you have the Symphonic Choirs WordBuilder software which is what allows you to type in the lyrics that appear in finale and program it so that the choir sings them. So you have everything at once, assuming your computer can handle running a full orchestra and the choir sound libraries all at once. :)
Dustin Hahn
Got it. It sounds awesome! Since the software is being shiped from Oregon and I live in Washington it should be here by monday. Tuesday at the latest. I can't wait to use the software! Thank you for your time, Marius. :)
Marius
no problem, Dustin. I'm sure you'll love it once you learn to use it - I'm still learning myself, haven't quite got the hang of wordbuilder yet :)
Dustin Hahn
Have you manged to wright and record a piece with lyrics in it yet?
Marius
I'm working on one now, actually.
Dustin Hahn
Really, how is it?
Marius
Pretty basic in terms of music; it's supposed to be the background to a dramatic cinematic sequence in a game. Bloody hard to program the choir though :( If you want to chat, we should use another method such as an instant messenger client. If you have any, feel free to add me - my contact info is on my profile, just click on my name.
Dustin Hahn
Darn! It looks like I'm not going to get it untill next tuesday. :D And I was looking forward to using it. They're not shipping it till friday because they didn't have it in stock. Atleast I know it's coming. Marius, have you tried using the words yet. I watched the tutorials. It doesn't look too hard. Are you using Votox or English?
