"Thank you for your participation in the 2025 Christmas Music Event!!!"

I totally forgot I created this on Christmas Eve of 2024 for my YouTube channel. I demonstrate 2 melodies in 1. It's only 9 seconds, but might as well demonstrate Music Jotter with a little Christmas fun.

Ohhh, so short but so expressive... I'm a huge fan of these mashups!

Mike this one is funny! The mashup doesn't sound too off together and well fitted to the Xmas mood haha.

Yeah, that one would surely be awarded the „Shortest Christmas Piece“ badge (haha), thus it isn’t easy to come up with a long review on that.

Even though it's certainly just for fun, such a mashup shows the potential of „simple melodies“ and how much one can do with an easy piece using counterpoint, harmonization, instrumentation, etc.

Thanks for making this fun Christmas event possible, and a happy and successful New Year 2026.

Thanks guys. I just wanted the Shortest Christmas Piece award 😉! It probably took me longer to create the video than it did the actual composition haha. But hey, you guys get to see what Music Jotter is like in action. I'll be composing more once Music Jotter is ready for beta testing (soon).

Hey @chopin

I feel like this fragment is so short that you should have included at least one more repeat of the material perhaps with some kind of variation or switching up of the voices?  Also, I'm sure you know that "Jingle Bells" and "Dashing through the snow" are lyrics from the same Christmas Carol "Jingle Bells" just in different sections.  For that reason, I think it would be difficult to make a full fledged piece out of it, since you have already spent all your melodic material in the first 8 seconds.  Although it is good to note that the melodies can be combined contrapuntally this way in case someone were to ever want to make use of this mash-up in some longer work (that's partially why I am doing my own Christmas Mash-ups too - in case I ever want to steal those ideas in some other more substantial Christmas piece).  Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year!

Yeah I definitely would have composed more had I composed for this event specifically. I made it so that it loops (for a YouTube short), and most of my effort went into the presentation of the video. But hopefully Music Jotter will be done soon and I can start composing more legitimate works for 2026!
