18 and been composing for a year - mostly for band. Had my first premiere a week ago.

hahah 14 first symphony at 12. been composing since then. 7 symphonies. and a few other works.

I am 17

I'm 13, turning 14 on December 16th. And that's my age.

I've written about 9 songs worth hearing, mostly electronic/pop/rock types.

I've also written one classical peice which needs work, and like 30 songs you DON"T want to hear. And that's what I've composed.

before I got into composing I did all of the RCM basic theory books and harmony 3 and 4.

I've also completed up to grade 10 in piano, and I play the guitar once in a while. And that's what I've done.

I'm 17, started piano lessons when I was 7, trumpet when I was 9, and have been playing since then. I somehow taught myself to play by ear a couple of years ago. it's actually helped alot when composing, though I only started taking composition seriously in the last month. Hopefully I'll be able to up my game from now on.

I would like to get an idea of this site's age group. The main goal is to actually see the ratio of how many "Young Composers" we actually have, compared to older members.

So please help me out by telling us your age. I would appreciate it if you would not only answer the poll, but also state your exact age in the discussion. I especially want the veteran Young Composers members to participate in this thread. Thank you!

O come on, of course you can, "Young" composers means not only the age but may be composers that don't have a irrufutable fame yet, people want to learn from other peoples music etc...
