Suggestion....

Alright, it's cool that there is a forum for us to do little contests and stuff for this site. But I think we also need to forum for young composers to tell each other about "real" composition contests/competitions that are taking place. We can post links to sites that have the information on them.

Like this contest that MENC is putting on:

So pretty much is a "spread the word" about composition contests that are happening aroung the globe

This site is a bit too small for dealing with or talking about business type applications such as this. Perhaps in the future, if this site becomes a hit, this will become a portal for musicians...but in my opinion, I wouldn't want to waste too many resources or time on promotional ideas just yet, until we build our composer base.

Of course feel free to start your own topic about this, but I don't see a reason to make this a major part of the site.

Sorry, you must have misunderstood me. I'm talking about young composer competitions and sharing with one another what contests you are entering and such. There are a lot of young composer competitions. Sometimes they are hard to find and that is why I think it would be a great idea to have a place to talk about contests you are entering and stuff.

You mean a dedicated forum for contests and competitions? I don't believe this is necessary right now, but you can alert other members to upcoming contests by using the member announcements forum. Alternatively, just create a topic in the Composer's Headquarters forum or something.

Maybe a sticky topic with links to international composition competitions would be nice? That won't require too many resources.
