Mark
Possible? Too many times I've had YC open but been looking at something else, come back and found a few pages from a hour ago :)
bob_the_sane
Yeah that would be useful...
Mike
Not really doable unless the means is Flash audio or something like that. The pager actually comes with the option of a notification sound that plays whenever a new message is received, but the problem is, it's embedded media, so it carries the potential to slow things down a lot, especially with Firefox. bob_the_sane
So yeah, I didn't get any of that... Oh well.
Mark
ah well, at least we can blame it all on Anders and his Firefox :)
Guest Anders
Mike - any chance of adding that feature.. BUT! including a checkbox to turn it off!? :) EDIT: Mark, the only one using IE is you :)
Daniel
It wouldn't be that helpful. Speaking for myself, I get annoyed enough when a pager message opens in the 20 tabs I have open.. to have sounds for each one would drive me mad!
Mike
Mike - any chance of adding that feature.. BUT! including a checkbox to turn it off!? Strikes me as too much effort for too little gain, but I will look into it. Don't hold your breath though. Speaking for myself, I get annoyed enough when a pager message opens in the 20 tabs I have open.. to have sounds for each one would drive me mad! Haha, this is a good point...I'm also susceptible to the over-tabbing malaise. ;)
Guest Jen318tkd
Mike - any chance of adding that feature.. BUT! including a checkbox to turn it off!? :( The idea of sound is good, but ONLY if you can do it with what Anders has suggested. That way everyone is happy. There are some times when I would like there to be sound to it, but others (like when I am watching anime on the computer or composing and don't want to be interruped) that it would just be an annoyance. bob stole my cookie
Yeah, I'm often don't notice I have a message for about half an hour after I received it and I hate it when it opens in all 20 tabs. I'll end up replaying to the same message multiple times because I forget I replied. 20 little dings would drive me insane. I have a vendetta against sites with sound. :P

Mitchell
IE gets on my nerves and it slows down my computer SO much, you wouldn't believe. But I never have more than one tab open of the same site, so it wouldn't bother me to have sound with the pager. It's not like I get messages that often anyway.
