i liked some of the ideas that you show us in this piece, but when i thought the music was just started it was over. As a little piece it is fine, but i think you have some nice material to develop and make something a bit bigger. I would made take a look at the voicings. like the others sayd, sometimes the are "confusing", and mixed. But it's nice. sounds good and i'm sure it would be fun to play. Just feels like it needs some more developing. :)

The symbolism comment wasn't a criticism, btw. Those sorts of things are usually effective for me, and I think they were here.

So exciting! I can only imagine how satisfying it must be to finally hear your piece played by a real ensemble. I sincerely hope it gets chosen for a premiere, and I'll be holding on to whatever chance we have of hearing a full performance.

There's a lot of really cool writing in this one. The quintuplet brackets were a strange choice to me, but I can see where you're coming from. I absolutely loved the bass one though; the ending was perfect. Have you heard Schnitkke's 1st Concerto Grosso? It reminded me of a bass version of that ending and I love that one too.

Hello Everyone! Just an update regarding this competition. The judges are almost done with scoring and reviewing and the results will be posted this Friday! I will compile and post the scores/reviews in another thread (a link will be provided). In the meantime, keep an eye out for our fall competition guidelines, which I will be posting in the next few days! If anyone has any suggestions for future competitions, please let me know (or post them on the gazillion threads here).
