  1. You can ask anything you want about music in this forum. If you 'have questions about how to get inspired or how to find the right melody', you can make a thread dedicated to it - like you've done here - in the 'Advice and Techniques' section, for instance, or you can ask people in the shoutbox, message people (by going to their page), and whatever else. If you have a piece that's not finished, that you don't know what to do with, you can upload it: at the top of the page you'll see a tab that says 'Upload Music', and from there you can categorize it under 'Incomplete Works; Writer's Block and Suggestions'.

  2. Getting inspired is a matter of close to things you like and things you like to do, those will give the best inspiration. As for melody that is a far more subjective concept. A melody could be very dull on its own but become interesting when paired with the right counterpoint or harmony. The melody is the subjective part of composition in my opinion, while harmony is much more driven by some objective theory people have made for their particular style. Just work on it and do what feels "good" or "right".

  3. Well if you have specific questions, you can use the Ask YC subforum, or even bring up a topic in the composer's headquarters. If you have a work that you would like reviews - well, everyone here is in that boat. So post a piece, somewhere there is a button for it. It will place your song, based on the selected category of your work. Nobody is strictly obligated to review you, or give constructive criticism. Though, being good-natured, and affording other people your reviews, then generally you are better off and someone will give you some words. Hope this helps. Welcome - I can tell you this place has benefited many people (relatively) over the years...
