  1. I found this great site on composition, Practical Guide to Musical Composition it seems a very useful guide on counterpoint, harmony and orchestration. Probably not that useful for the more advanced of you, but for beginners like me its great, and its FREE! :w00t:
  2. The sacred music of Pink Floyd should not be touched. -Floydman
  3. I think everything has basically been covered. But what about the likes of Vivaldi, he rarely, if ever strays from I V i, chords in his compositions. Is this simple and bad music then.
  4. I don't get nervous when playing to an audience, but I'm actually much more nervous when playing to fellow musicians, cause they know when you make a mistake.
  5. And heres the PDF... Allegro in A.pdf
  6. Oops, forgot to attach the piece  Allegro in A.mid Allegro in A.mus
  7. OK, so I had a bit of time so I wrote this. Its for flute, violin, and cello. I tried to give all the instruments more interesting parts this time, although the flute carries the melody (if there is any) I tried to make something cohesive, but it did not really work out. I'm not sure how to develop. Please help :sadtears: Anyway, thanks before hand
  8. Look at the interviewer's moustache, its huge!
  9. You can start by looking in Youtube, I think they have some good free piano lessons.
  10. Thanks for your comment. You're right it belongs under incomplete section.
  11. Hey, heres my second post. Please, all help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to start doing anything too big before I get a hand of this composing thing, so I'm posting short little things for now. I decided to use Finale Notepad because its free, but I find it really slow to use any suggestions, for other software. I love using Sibelius but its just way too expensive. Untitled3.mid Untitled #3.mus
  12. I never understand Beethoven, I cant stand the symphonies I've heard by him. Can someone give me a suggestion of where I should start.
  13. I made a new MySpace site just for my compositions: MySpace.com - Floydman - NL - Classical - www.myspace.com/floydman1234 I posted an audio file there.
  14. Thanks for all your comments, Ill try to use them in my next piece. Also, Im new to this website, and I was wondering how do you post mp3's so that everyone can see them. I can't post MIDI files because I only have a Demo version of Sibelius, I know I'm a bit cheap.
  15. Thanks for the comment. Here's the mp3. Sory about the bad quality again. Keep And Share
  16. Hi, this is my first piece lasting more than a few bars, it's also my first piece using sibelius. Its only 1 min. 30 sec. long. Anyway, please comment. Any advice would be nice. Thanks :) I attached the PDF, unfortunately it wont accept my mp3 file. PS I couldn't think of a title for it, so I called it Untitled. Untitled.pdf
