Robusto Prelude

Featured Replies

Another amazing piece that I created.

Robusto Prelude (mp3 file)

You might want to take a few lessons in life before listening, because I deserve a more worthy audience.

Great job.

I really liked the part where you didn't completely suck.

Keep up the great work!

Then perhaps you will appreciate my newest album. It features 9 tracks embracing different lengths of complete silence. There is a back order though, but I'll think sending you a pre-release if you send $14.95 via check or cash.

Wow great!

I've always wanted a CD full of nothing. Reminds me of John Cage.

Once again, great work Sepulker!

Evan Duffy

I pretty much suppose it's impossible to be that arrogant, sepulker: you're obviously just joking, right?

Of course he is.

But his music is ingenious....

Thanks to this i have found a way to shut my birds up. They just sit quite and listen. Thanks man!

What the......???

I recognize this sound. This is the sound that a monitor makes before it explodes, and I have had quite a few monitors explode on me (it wasn't my fault, I don't think ;) )!

No, really this piece is unique. You did a nice job distorting the signal, man! I don't know if anyone else notices, but there were quite a few things that had to go on to change the nature of the original signal like that. A lesson in wierdness for us all to learn :D

noticing some spatial phenomena

has anyone tried headphones?

ingenious my donkey. His piece is about as genius as a 1-month old child with down syndrome.

;) :D :D

This was weird, but interesting. I'm sure Moog would be proud of you. ;)

I love it! It's giving me a really serius headache!

Um... what does it mean if a big, black interdimensional gateway appears right behind me? Where do you suppose it goes? I guess anywhere's better than here, sitting at my computer wasting time listening to weird sounds... *gets whisked away to Seti Alpha IV*

Was this once a piano????

Ouch. I mean, wow. I mean...interesting. Yeah.

If you'll forgive me, this is proof that as I've often said, everything in music anymore is derivative. Edgar Varese was doing stuff like this 50 years ago. It's still interesting, though.

Cool! Maybe it'll work on my rich uncle Stan!

Interesting indeed. If this were supposed to be a musical masterpiece performed in concert halls, I would gag. It is what I would call modern elevator music. Pretty much, background noise, something that you might hear in a video game (like Metroid...), which is cool, but really very odd. Your arrogance, if real, makes me look down upon you as a person, and if fake, makes me look down upon your music. I can't tell if you're just making fun of music, or if this was a serious composition.

I got the early impression that you were a fool. Perhaps you are, perhaps you are a genius. Both? Either way, it was...definitely interesting. Yes, the proper word to describe it...

Oh, by the way, if you're just trying to be "funny", then I'd say don't waste our time.

Good day,

Evan

PS - Is "equivocal" the word of the week, Nico?

I know I've used it an unusual number of times lately.

Haha! Good stuff.

Since this topic has devolved anyways...

Yeah, me too. I especially like using words that make me sound better than everyone else (which I am ). Just kidding, but still...

Those of you who've been targetted by one of my UFOs from the Vault will of course recognize this as the sound heard during the marking process. I mentioned it was completely painless, and asides from the side-effects it is. I might have neglected to mention though that this here sound which is unrelated to the marking in any other sense than the one that it happens at the same time may cause discomfort in some listeners. Pardon my error.

Just my opinion, but some of you might want to take yourself a bit less serious. It's way obvious that Sepulker is being ironic and I seriously doubt that being ironic about oneself is a reason to look down on his 'music'. False arrogance is much more amusing then false modesty if you ask me.

As for his music, try to be a bit open-minded. I know some folks here are strictly classical composers and care very little for anything sonology-related. That's perfectly fine but no reason for comments like 'ingenious my donkey. His piece is about as genius as a 1-month old child with down syndrome.' If nothing else you could at least note that he attempts to do something new and posts it in an obviously somewhat conservative surrounding. And if even that is too much to ask you could silently leave and give positive feedback to those you do think deserve it.

Bashing other musicians is one of the worst things you could do. Doing it on the internet is even lamer.

Anyone else wants to step on the soapbox? ;)

Well, it's politically incorrect...but yeah.

By the way...I believe it's Down's Syndrome. Down was the scientist who discovered it, I guess. Is that right, Caltech?

What the fudge is this???
