A small thing... really :P

i was thinking. i figured ive been around here long enough that i should actually maybe post some music (this being a composers forum and all) cept the problem was id actually never written any :whistling:.

so, being bored today (when i was supposed to be in class) i sat down and attempted to write a small "song".

so here it is, my first EVER actual composition.

being that i know absolutly no music theory, no music styles, have had absolutely no training and have only been trying to write music maybe 2 months, im not sure what to make of it. but hey!, here it is, please comment or something (LOOK HERE)

You have some good ideas in here. I here a lot of Asian influences, both in your harmonies and the instrumentation - was that done on purpose? Either way, it is nice. The ending was very very sudden and could use some work. The melody is nice, but it tends to drag on in my opinion, and due to the ending, doesn't really find conclusion. Overall however, this is a great piece for someone who has only composed for a couple of months! Keep up the good work.

Congratulations on you first piece!:blush: I liked it ... it's rather simple and could be a bit developed, but here you have a material to start with. You could perhaps develop a bit the melodic line in the clarinet, introduce some new harmonies ... I think it's a nice combination of instruments ... I liked the harp's accompaniment. I personally liked the ending very much ... I would perhaps only keep that last note in the clarinet for one more bar and just fade it out with some nice decresendo.

I listened to this 'cause you listened to my piece :)

This was your first composition? Good job! It's a pretty little thing. And no, I do not hate it :P The MIDI (as usual) was horrible and added an almost vibrato to the clarinet. But it's good, nothingless.
