Basically, yeah. I never compose and I did. Woot.

That's actually more coherent than many things newbies write. But it's just a single melody with parallel harmony. There's no counterpoint whatsoever and no contrary motion.

I think this sounds good for never composing and just starting to compose.

Would like to see more added on to this , dont know the exact terms for it musical but M Is D has it correct.

If this is the very first composition, it's actually not that primitive--the harmonized melody is more advanced than one of single notes. I'm a novice myself, and my first pieces, in January of this year, had only a monophonic melody line. It was only later that I managed to create some countermelodies that worked, and I still have no understanding of true counterpoint. But the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and the proof of the music is in the listening. If a piece sounds interesting and gives you enjoyment, then it is successful, even though it may not be very long or complex. What a newcomer needs is encouragement, and so I say to this composer, continue. Study and learn as much as you can, and save all your musical ideas as they come to you, by whatever means necessary. Some, perhaps most, will be inconsequential, but some may well be of merit. As you gain the ability to develop them, do so. This is what I am doing, and I think it applies to the highest master as well as the lowliest newbie

i have a feeling that if you add more interesting patterns and melodies to it, it will turn out to be something amazing.

I am in the same position as you and am new to composing. For someone at my level, it seems pretty good. I'm excited to listen to more pieces of yours and see how you improve!

There are definately some gems in this. I think you show a remarkable knowledge of rhythm (in the bars that aren't straight quarter notes) and in one of your measures, you seem to almost stumble across some minimalist development. I'd keep at it if I were you. Maybe flesh out some of the accompaniment to make it more interesting, but on the whole it was a fine first out!
