Sonata No 1, Mvt 1; FANTASTICO!!

Featured Replies

Here is a sonata composed in my own style, with some Grieg and Debussy influences. It took me 1 week to get it into the condittion it is in now; rapage of everything! (my, there seems to be a lot of sex in my music)

You'll notice that the middle section lacks development, it is suppposed to build up unresolved tension that i will release in the later mvts.

Sonata No 1 in C minor, mvt 1, fantastico (is there such a word???)

PS: Once i get the chance to make a midi, i'll do it rigth away

PS 2: Yes, i know it sometimes gets extremely difficult. ;)

MIDI...

Sonata No 1 in C minor, mvt 1, fantastico (is there such a word???)

Yes, that's "fantastic" in Portuguese ;)

I just got back from a test on Beethoven's music, so excuse my potentially-nonsense review in advance!

Well, my personal tastes in music aren't quite in line with what you have here (for example, the constant sudden changes in the left hand); however, this is just my pointless blabbering, as I do see that you have created a nice work. I loved the opening theme in triplets: I certainly enjoyed when and how you came back to it later in the piece. The way that you ended the piece was also fantastico!

Overall a truly unique piece that has some great ideas in it and some wonderful craftmanship behind them! Good job!

VERY attractive piece Letehn! I've never heard anything quite like it, very much an original style. I love the rhythms, time changes, and constant, frenetic invention of new material in it. Kind of sounds improvised in a way!

Yes, I agree with Derek...this is very attractive, and unique, original! Very nice job! I love to play with rhythm as well, and you do a nice job of that! Cool ending btw!

Voila my commentary:

WHOA. I love this thing! This is funny and melodic and interesting all at the same time, well done ;)

I think you have some very nice ideas flowing through it, the Grieg influence is very apparent to me. The beginning theme, much revisited, is brilliant and the development is shocking and original; just what it needs to be.

Your transitions are brusque but sexy, they keep the piece moving but keep it from being monotonous in any sense; rhythms, harmonies...everything's moving and changing. There is a very cool mood evoked by this piece, it seems frantic and majestic. I think the word I'm looking for is fantastico ;)

This piece fits very nicely into your style and I hope to see more such work from you buddy, you can expect a wonderful Mp3 of this piece as soon as I get around to making it for you, this piece deserves to be heard as it should be.

Let's see more of this wonderful work! :)

It feels like im driving through the rain enjoying the sights, but you know the troubles of driving in bad weather. Every once and awhile you run into trouble and things pick up. Very nice piece
