Oh, I forgot to mention something. This piece ends rather.. incomplete. This is because it loops back with the beginning without too much trouble, which is what the producer wanted. It could still stand by itself without the ending, but someday I think I might add it on there.

This is very nice. I just finished reading your bio and I understand a lot of what you say. I am a firm believer that someone that wants to compose has got to compose. I can't put in 8 hours a day as you do, but I usually put in 3 -4 hours a night and then 8-12 hours a day on the weekends. Of course a lot of that time is also spent here critiqueing music, but I do what I can.

You profile says you joined a couple of years ago but I couldn't find any old posts, just the new ones this month. So I will welcome you back and hope you stick around this time.

Really nicely done :) I would recommend turning down the reverb slightly, it's a little muddy. However it sounds really quite grand!

It has been a while since I was able to put that many hours in, but after exams this week I certainly plan to spend at least 9 hours a day writing music. I can't get away from it, I am obsessed. I am always experimenting and trying new things...I never get bored or tired lol.

I did join a few years ago. I was able to find some of my old posts through my profile.. a link like "Posts" or something.. I can't remember where. My music has changed so much since a year or two ago, it was horrible. But we all have to start somewhere, right? :)

Thanks, Kevin :) Yes, I agree with you on that. I have already submitted the piece to the producer, but I will see if it is not too late. I've listened to it before and often though the same thing about the reverb, but I wasn't sure if it was just me, lol. So thanks for sharing that with me, I appreciate it. :)

Not a problemmmmmmmm

I really like this a lot.

Especially the brass section of this.

I hope to one day be able to compose music on this level.

I liked this aswell :)

Awesome orchestration, what library did you use??

Yeah, like other people said however, there's too much reverb, which is a huge pity - from what I can hear, it'd sound brilliantly composed and professional standard.

And rolifer, lucky you - I only get weekends to properly compose :phones: I'd love to get 3-4 hours of solid composition everyday.

I used EWQLSO Silver :) Some day I will go in and fix the reverb problem. Problem is I have two external hard drives to go through hahaha. I am so not organized. A musician and not organized... it's the end of the world for me, haha. Thanks for your comments, Cheese :)

Hey man,

This sounds very nice. You created some nice ambiences in the softer parts with the choirs singing high, I liked that the most :).

Keep on going!

Hi J!

As others have mentioned to you, you have the reverb up waaaaay high on this...it sounds like I'm listening to the orchestra from a different room. I'll take it a step further to point out that the mix is also unrealistic on another level, and that is that all your instruments seem to be sitting on top of each other, which makes for an odd stereo image. Panning is your friend: use it, varying amounts of reverb, and EQ to properly place your instruments on the sound stage and your tracks will sound far more convincing. In terms of sequencing, it's pretty solid...much of it is hard to make out in the flood of reverb, but in general it sounds pretty well put together, given the limitations of the EWQL Silver package in terms of being able to produce realistic string and brass legatos, etc. The writing is solid and engaging, if not particularly innovative, and I like the fact that your orchestration wasn't too blocky or section-centric, so well done on that account.

Overall a solid piece of writing with some lack-lustre production values that could use some polish to get you to the final product. :)

at :20 - :30, loved the mallet swirls(that's just what i call them lol) in the background. I've always wondered how to recreate those, haven't figured it out yet. But great song!

There's just enough reverb. It sounds brilliant, don't change a thing. I really want to see a score so I can orchestrate this well. Thanks for sharing.
