Hi I'm Angie from the beautiful and rich continent of Africa. I sing, play violin and piano for fun. i hope to study on these some more and become virtuoso. ha ha ha!

i've always wanted to compose and i'm glad to join young composers because now i can do sth abt that:-)

Hi there, I'm Graham (despite what my username might suggest) from Leeds, England. Been composing music since about 13, but only recently have I become interested in classical composition. I'm largely self taught, having quite consciously rebelled against my musical upbringing before I'd started creating my own music, but inevitably I have returned. I look forward to listening through everyones music, and hearing peoples thoughts on my own.

Hate to speak about myself...

Hello everybody, I'm Сања form Скопје, Македонија. I'm still high school - gymnasium. After finishing high school I hope that I'll study to become film composer. I don't have any of my music in the PC, so right now I can't introduce you with my work. You can see part of my musical taste here www.last.fm/sanya7.

Yes, welcome Fragrant_composer (sadly, you can't smell things over the internet.. just fyi), Bob (there's another bob.. but her name's Hillary and she's not very active), and Sanya (don't worry, many many people here are in high school too and there are quite a few in undergrad).

Good luck here... hope you all stayish....

Thank you, Maelstrom.

hey my name's Lionel. I'm 19, I go to NYU's Stern Business school. I love composing, and hope to do this for the rest of my life.

Welcome to YC, Sanya and Lionel. It sucks here.

I'm probably kidding...

It sucked every since dirk arrived unfortunately

What, almost 3 years ago?

Try again, small fry...I've been here exactly a year longer than you ;).

Yeah, and it's sucked the whole time! leave here while you still can, newbies!

Hi all. My name's Jake Murray and I'm an art student studying illustration at the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio.

I know everyone's first reaction must be, "What's an ART student doing here???" :P Other than my visual arts, I've been pursuing music composition since I was about seven years old. I've had a few piano lessons and played clarinet in my highschool band, but other than that I'm self-taught. I've always loved movie/videogame soundtracks.

I recently came across this forum and thought that this definitely seems like a great place for learning about composition and music in general - not to mention meet interesting people!

^We've got a few future scientists here, as well. You're definitely not abnormal in not pursuing composition professionally. :P

My name is Aaron Pellegrini. I have been composing for as long as I can remember, and still write today. Last August, I completed my first opera, and we hope to be in production by this time next year. Over the years, I have served as principle Horn for the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra, as well as their associate conductor, several different pit orchestras around Nevada, organist for a myriad of different churches around my area, and last but not least, I am currently the Music Director/Conductor of the new Mason Valley Wind Ensemble here in Yerington. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. :)

Hello there,

My name's David Ciente, I live in Romania, and I ran into this site whose name attracted me quickly, that's because I am also a young music composer and a piano/keyboard player. I want to find others like me, exchange experience, maybe collaborate in some projects.

Hello, Apparently the name of the website is decieving - a range of people from veteran demi-gods to old fogey beginners and 12 year olds all congeal into a giant solid chunk of variety here, so you're bound to find somebody on your level with your interests.

Enjoy your stay

hi i'm carter from NJ and write indie/pop/classical as well as some baroque music. i am very interested in having lessons here in the classical style. i found this site with a google search :)

hello....I'm Gina from Indonesia, 24 years old. I play chinese instrument Pi Pa and Er Hu, nice to meet you....

i hope i can learn something from this forum :)

Hey all, I'm new to this site, and joined at the suggestion of a friend. Senior music composition major in Washington state, adrift in the world, without a clue of his future. You know, the standard - he he he. I admire most music, but prize the impressionists and minimalists above all in the classical world, and the disciples of classic, indie, and alt rock in the 'vernacular' world.

Just came here to possibly network, as well as receive advice and friendly criticisms/compliments.

Looking forward to the music!!

Hi.. My name is Devi Sartika from Indonesia. I'm new here...

I was introduced to music since i was five and I play Piano. I started compose since 16 ( little bit late, isnt it:blush:) Haha...

I Play Piano every week for choir. now im concentrate composing to enter YST Conservatory( Hope I can do it:thumbsup:). Haha...

I think that's all for my intro...

Nice to meet you....

:D

Devi, 16 is not a late age to start composing. I started when I was... well actually, I've hardly even started and I'm 20 years old! However, I feel that I am able to compose at least half way decently.

Welcome to the forum. Although, this is only my second post, so I'm not sure that I'm fit to welcome.

compose since 16 ( little bit late, isnt it:blush:)

I was 22 when I started :D Never too late!

Welcome to YC

Hi everyone,

I've used this forum a few times before but I thought I'd actually introduce myself so - hi!

Hi, my name is Nick ...

I'm still a wee lad, 16 years of age. I am from Torrance, CA, and I have been writing and composing music for about 3 years now (:

Hi everyone - I am not exactly new to the forum but I haven't posted anything in a long time - I hope to catch up soon! The good news is, the first piece I ever posted here (Gigallegro for flute and piano) is going to be published! Can't wait to receive the first copy. Also, I just started a blog Lorenzo Salvagni and a myspace profile Lorenzo on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Please come to visit and let me know what you think... I would really love to exchange ideas about music, on any level. cheers
