Yeah, I know him! Well, sort of. We only just met this year, of course. He actually talked about this website in our weekly studio class, so that's how I came to know of it.

I hear your school's pretty good. ;) Have fun there. College (I hear) have some of the best years of your life.

Welcome Josh! I'm a fellow Texas college freshman, but I go to the University of Oklahoma...and I wish I had the guts to be a composition major like you do!!! :D

Hi, I'm new (although I registered a long, long time ago). I compose since I was 11 and mostly for piano ( a few for guitar and a attempt of a quartet) . I'm from brazil, so my english is really not good, but I will try my best.

Welcome grodiens, nice to see those old accounts get back to life, there are many that were created years ago and they have not been "active" for long time.

Don't worry about the english, some non-native english-talking members write much better than those who "borned in english"....

Hi

I am Sara John, new here

Welcome Laura and Sara :)

Hi everyone

I'm Haakon, and I'm from Norway. I'm 16 years old and I've just started to learn notation actually. I'm trying to compose as well. I've been playing the guitar for about 4 years now. I play some piano and bass as well. I've got an alto-sax and a violin, but I can't play much. At least not yet. But I'm a quick learner. At least when it comes to music.

I like all kinds of music, except perhaps new pop and metal. I'm not saying that that music isn't any good. It's just that I prefer other genres. I'm really into 70s prog rock. But I also listen a lot to jazz and classical music.

This community seems really nice. I found this forum while searching for help for "making the volume in Finale louder" :P Hehe. Anyways. As mentioned this place seems to be really nice and I hope I will learn a lot from you guys and perhaps after a while I can help some of you too :D

Hei gr

Er norsk lov da? :P

(Is Norwegian allowed? :P)

(Is Norwegian allowed? :P)

 No.

I know. Actually it was written in a fashion more like "I thought Norwegian wasn't allowed" ;)

Hi everyone,

I'm a music minor at George Mason University and I am doing my senior recital in the spring. My parents play bassoon and clarinet, and I would love to have them play with me. Does anyone know of a trio that includes French horn, clarinet and bassoon?

If not, do you know of any string trios that could be easily arranged for this ensemble? I'm looking for something contemporary and latin, ideally, along the lines of Piazzolla or D'rivera.

Thanks!

Leah

Hi everybody, as you might have guessed, my name's Rick. I'm officially a jazz guitarist and arranger from Sydney, but I also like to compose in many styles. Although I'm 43, I have the body of an 60 year old and the mind of an adolescent, which I figure averages out to about 25. Anyway, looking forward to exchanging ideas,

Cheers.

Hello and welcome everybody that enjoys and loves the magic of music! I am currently part of a compositional asociation called A&S. We compose different kinds of songs and rythms mainly in pop and alternative rock in English and Spanish. We are currently working with some young new talented singers. I'd like to get in touch with musicians, artists, singers, bands producers etc. who are interested in working together and sharing this passion for music!

Hi there, Would a new one like me be welcome here?

Thanks so much in deed.

Hello, I am a young guy from Estonia and currently I'm mostly into the soundscapes of 70's progressive rock.

I've been playing the piano for some time now - also I have, by now, taken up the harpsichord and I now actually own a glockenspiel and a kalimba too, so I try to work on those two things too from time to time.

I love experimental music and odd harmonies, but I can't say I enjoy rudimentary serialism... or other extreme modern music schools. Also I don't enjoy most boring pop music and dance music - other than that, everything goes. I love everything from Gregorian chants and tribal rhythms to impressionism and onwards too a bit. I also like many popular bands and modern jazz is awesome.

I begun composing my little thingies only a year after I started dealing with music... they were pretty sad though. But I hope to get better.

I'm a bit different in a way, I think, that I only compose for myself. I only play for myself. I have no illusions - I'm probably not going to be a successful musician or composer - started a bit too late - but music, playing and composing, is going to remain a large bit of my spiritual life.
