Hi there guys,my names Sam, i just joined.

I've have been composing since late last year and i've realised i like it so much i'd like to make a career out of it, lol!

I write rock (for a band) outside of that i write things just for myself and for game related projects in any style. trying to explore as many different styles as i can atm(inspite of my dire knowledge of theory) and am interested in finding out what techniques and programs people use to compose!

:)

Hi, my name is Zachary and I am 17, and I have played the violin for about 7 years, and have composed for that long as well, though it wasn't until about 2 years ago that I really got serious about it.

I have no idea where I will be going to college, though I know I will be doing violin performance as my major, and composition as either a double major or minor.

Nice to have you aboard Zachary! The world needs more violinists :D

Hi! I am Luluberyllium as you might have noticed.

The only "music" I have presented here is really just a hobby I do-making really weird annoying loop songs in sound recorder and goldwave. Please don't take them too seriously. I don't.

The music I am proud of is for piano, I consider the pieces a cross between Erik Satie and Philip Glass. They are short, usually 2 minutes or less, but they are all linked together. Unfortunately during a move, my mp3 player broke (it had all my recordings on it) so they are lost, and because of the move, I am away from my piano. So, until I get back to Texas, all you will be able to judge me on is those silly loop songs, and that annoys me. I am not meaning to brag about myself here-but just know that my bravado is backed by something. I'm not just a 15year old ego-maniac n00b. Music is more than that. I know I am not the most talented person, heck, I can barely read music. But I'm not just a chimp plunking away at keys either.

Hey, im Henry, 14. I tought myself Piano, can't read music much... at all, and started piano lessons a few weeks ago, but i am predicted an A/A* for music GCSE so it's not all bad news.

Ok, hi there~

A Few Questions:

1. Where are you from? (country or as specific as you want to get)

2. What is A/A?

3. What is GCSE?

Hi there!

I'm Luke from the south of Merry ol' England! I've been composing music for a game that me and some friends are developing for the past two years. I only got a "B" at GCSE music as I've never taken any formal lessons and I'm not taking the subject at A-level or on to University, as my playing skills are... well, lets just say sub-par!

I compose all my music on Sibelius and my main influence and inspiration is former Square-Enix composer Nobuo Uematsu. Listening to the soundtracks for his games is what got me into music composition in the first place. I dont think I'm nearly as good as a lot of the people on these forums but I'm improving fast, and by being an active member of this community I hope to get better still!

Look forward to talking to you all.

Fox.

Welcome Foz ^__^

Nobuo Uematsu, I do like him too.

Then you, Saiming, are brilliant!

Its nice to talk to people about stuff on here. At school I am, of course, considered uncool/ a nerd/something much more offensive for listening to game soundtracks and not liking all the hip-hop and stuff (By the way - I have conducted an experiment and it is possible to create a "quality" hip-hop song from conception to finished recording in just 40 minutes!)

Great to be among some like-minded people and thanks for the great welcome!

No problem dude.

Ehh, Uematsu is a bit ''meh''.

However! Him and his orchestrator Shiro Hamguchi.... OHHH GOOOD HEAVENS *MIDO*!! :santa: ;) I loving love the FF8 FLWW orchestrated album! B

Yeah... So welcome. :D

Indeed. FFVIII was the greatest. And so I have begun my collection of the orchestrated albums.
