But just to be clear, everything you see on the webpage (or hear rather) is by me. Does that clear it all up? Does anyone still need a hug? ;)

All of the music score was composed and arranged by Michiru Oshima.

Yes, I never claimed to score the show, just the trailer promoting the show. ;)

Oh bloody hell people, he didn't score the videos, just the TRAILER. The trailer is a completely seperate media entity intended simply to advertise the actual product.

I have heard of almost no cases where the composer for the film writes the music for the trailer too. Most of the movie trailers you see these days have their music either brutally ripped from other scores (with Chicken Run as a prime example; I've heard that score ripped to shreds and used for countless trailers) or it's written by people like X-Ray Dog - a company which specializes specifically in making music for blockbuster movie trailers.

The point is, Mr.Madsen here did not score the actual videos, just the *trailer*. This ignorant paranoia is a little pathetic guys, let's shape up here and at least try to look like a worthwhile community.

Nate, welcome aboard ;)

Well I didn't know this ... I just knew a friend heard some of E.S. Posthumus's works on a trailer once. <<;

;)

In my vulnerable state I seriously feel like I was just emotionally attacked by Marius..lol. Even though I'm pretty sure I didn't cause any controversy...

Anyways, welcome talented trailer writer music man.

"talented trailer writer music man"

Now that is an interesting title, and would be VERY hard to fit on a business card! Thanks Oboe.

Hey Everyone,

I'm Jonathan; I currently live in Missouri (USA). I play piano, took lessons for ~13 years, but haven't had any for over 5 years now. Incidentally, I haven't really learned much new since then either.

I don't know much about composing, although I've been improvising for several years. I've recorded most of my improv for the past year, so I could "remember" some of my ideas, but honestly have no clue how put things together to develop a coherent piece.

I've liked a lot of what I've heard on here, and, even for the things I haven't liked, I'm in awe of what most of you can do.

It is nice to know that there are people (today) composing "classical" music that's more than just film scores and background music for video games. (And it's nice to hear music for piano that's _not_ "new age piano" or, even worse, "new age piano" where the "composer" is in denial.)

As for my preferences, and where I stand musically, I'm not a huge fan of most atonal music. My tastes lie more along the lines of the darker Chopin pieces (i.e., _not_ the Minute Waltz); several parts of most Rachmanninov pieces (but not a fan of his "technical showiness for its own sake"); and several of the earlier Scriabin pieces, when he was still predominantly Romantic (e.g., the Opus 8 Etudes.)

I like pieces that are difficult, but still musical, and that allow the performer to inject their own expression into the pieces. Virtuosity without musical value is a turn off (plenty of Liszt), as is simplicity (Satie). I like Satie, but it's not challenging enough as a performer for me to want it as part of my repertoire.

I can play Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, and play them well, although I don't really like most of their music. The predictability is a turn off, and I get bored both listening and playing after a few minutes. Granted, I know there's plenty to learn from all of them.

Anyway, that's me. I'm here to listen and learn.

Jonathan

Yay! A well learned scholar in the subject of piano repetoire! How fun. So I'm guessing you like Scriabin's early piano sonatas? :woot:

;)

I haven't actually played any of the Scriabin sonatas though :-(

My favorites, when I listened to them in the past, were actually the 3rd and the 10th. But now you've got me listening to them all again. There goes the next 3 hours...

My favorite is number four.

I've been listening to the two Kabalevsky sonatinas all night....;)

hi everyone

Hello, this is fauzie. I'm 25 years old, i hope i'm not too old to be here :musicwhistle:

This is my forst post here.

I play the flute as my major instrument. I also play the trumpet and classical guitar. I'm not that good on the piano but luckily my pianist friends are willing to play anything that i wrote for them.

I also collect exotic ethnic wind instruments. I have never used them in a real concert though.

Hello.

Do you compose? or just perform?

And I don't think you're too old... I'm 23, although pretty new here (6 days or so).

Hi there. The name's Sion.

I'm the head of an upcoming computer RPG known as

Chaos Generations. And I was sent here by a fellow amateur

game designer, in search of a composer who would be

able to assist us with some of the game's original scores.

I play a bit of piano, though I only play by ear.

I've been playing to record the themes of the game, in order

to send them to a composer for them to be re-mastered.

I'm not too bad, seeing as music is practically in my genetics.

If I wanted, I could probably become quite well in it. But I'm

giving most of my attention to game-making at the time...

Hmm, what else... (Not good at this type of stuff.) Umm,

I'm a writer from Washington D.C who enjoys Fantasy

and of course "RPG's". I've been fiddling with several instances

of a program called "RPGmaker" For about six years now.

And am trying to craft one of the greatest amateur role playing games

to ever grace the internet.

Wow, that was a lot... Well yeah, once I find the "Project" forum, I can

post more stuff pertaining the project there. So all in all, I'm glad to be

here. And if our project fails to catch your eye, I'm still very interested

in listening to all of your compositions. Thank You,

~Sion

Something good to include is if this project is offering any kind of compensation or not. You also mention needing a composer to re-master the tracks already in the game, but does the composer have the liberty to create completely new tracks if he or she so wishes?

Good luck with your project.

Nathan

Greetings to all.

My name is Giacinto. I am Italian by birth & live in Western Australia (Perth). I have been interested in music since childhood. I have studied music at H/school & privately. But later school, work & life commitments prevented me to carry on musically. Except as a listner. Now, I am semiretired & have decided to resume my early music studies. This si made even more possible today because of the tremendous offer of music material/tuition online, notation & music production software. I am particularly impressed by the composition course run on this forum (i.e., the lessons by Qccowboy). I am sure I will enjoy & learn from - Young Composers.Com, immensely.

Thank you all for being here.

Giacinto

you know, it occurs to me that I don't think I've actually posted here :)

my name is Jordan, and I live in Ontario, Canada. I've already posted all over the forums for various things, but I will re-iterate some things here :

I have played the piano since I was 5, and the clarinet since I was just barely 10. I've been playing them now for 11/6 years, respectively. I am the head clarinetist in my highschool concert band, the principle clarinet in the school (meaning that if a clarinet is needed for anything, I'm there), and I'm also the leader of the band executive there. I also help to conduct the junior concert band, and, the person who is actually in charge may be pregnant soon (not a student, stop whining... just married) so I might soon become THE director, not just an assistant. I also play in the jazz band, and it is by far my favorite thing about music in school so far, I think.

I have written multiple things (see the thread about how much you've written... I think it's.. well, you'll find it :D ) and I plan to keep on writing, otherwise I wouldn't be here. I have converted now, from writing fugues and various overtures to writing almost exclusively jazz now, because I much prefer it, and it sounds better :)

I was at various places during the summer, and with school coming up, I may have the same problem, but I hope to be as active as I can, and really become a good member of our community.

see you all in the forums!

Hi I'm Blake.

I currently live in Detroit, Michigan. I am currently 13 years old, and I love music. I have been playing piano, for 7 years, and trumpet, for 3 years. I play much more trumpet than piano, and I am very advanced for my age level. I am currently playing on a Bach Stradivarious B-flat trumpet, and I love it. I'm advanced, and I've won many musical festivals with 1+ ratings, (1+ being the highest possible). I am fortunate to have joined this website! I joined this website to continue my music in a more enhanced way, with the fellowship of other musicians. I wish to learn how to play and write jazz well.

Thank You.

If anyone is willing to help..just e-mail.

Hello Blake. Wow, you think you are all high and might, advanced is used repeatedly. E-mail you? If you have any problems post them on the forum, that is what YC is for.

Welcome on board.

Hello all,

I am John Taylor. I write and arrange orchestra and band music mostly for High School and Middle school. ( a lot more arranging that new work) I am currently trying to break my old habits of writing polyphony and counterpoint to get myself out of boring melodic lines and having writers block. Any suggestions?

not on this forum we don't :D

welcome aboard, and check out the "writer's block" forum if you haven't already :innocent:

Hi I'm Josh and I play piano and electric guitar. Been writing music for quite a while now on and off. Pretty amateur stuff really but I like to try and occasionally I come up with something I like.

Hello.

Do you compose? or just perform?

Well, i do compose music, but i make a living primarily from performing and teaching at this moment. Still trying to turn myself into a full time composer. It's going well so far, I've won my first award in composition, and recieved my first comission.

Welcome everyone. Stick around!
