Hey my name's Simeon although I go by the abbreviation Sim :]

I live in the United Kingdom (England) in the town of Stevenage in Hertfordshire.

I play the Trombone and Piano (and I have singing lessons aswell) and Im currently a student music teacher at my local music centre. I really want to get better at my composing so I hope all you guys can help. I have a lot of experience in playing Orchestra, Concert Band and Jazz Band arrangements from a trombonists perspective and I really hope I can help give some of you guys ideas on what works well for trombones!

Wicked :}

See you all around.

Hi, I am Dirk Radloff from Germany, let me introduce myself: I have started to play violin at the age of five, i joined youth-orchestras and competitions and at last i studied violin at university to become a teacher. While studying i also exercised piano and started to play Electric guitar to support my second love besides classical music: Rock music. At university i was teached in composing and arranging and first of all i started to write songs, what i still do, and joined several bands. After years at the age of thirtysomething i wrote a classical piece for piano and became more and more interested in classical composing. I have participtaed in a few competitions and joined sibeliusmusic. The sad thing about the competitions was, that i have lost all (I have not expected to win one) and nobody gives me a constructive feedback, only at sibeliusmusic somebody has written something about my pieces. So i want to post something here to get something back (if i have the time, cause i am busy like everybody else).

Welcome Dirk,

looking forward to your music

I am very happy to find a comunity of people who like to share their precious creations in one of the most common languages of the world... Music.

In sharing we have the possibility to learn, evolve and "abandon" a fullfilled objective to leave on the pursuit of another.

I hope all your capacity will meet your creative music thoughts, as you pass them to life.

Mike

hi, young composers, ladies and gentlemen, my name is martin, and i'm glad to be here. as i am not a professional composer (or not a composer at all), i am really sad not being able to read notes, which results in not being able to appreciate all of the music in here. i find midi track sound really terrible. so, i hope there will be more mp3 files with sample sounds to listen to.

as for myself, i do terribly play piano(but i'm very fond of it, ''cause it releases the pressure and helps to concentrate ) and hope to get to play a trumpet sometime soon, when i have money for buying it. i love trumpet sound. as a kid (10-11 years of age) i had my firs band with my cousin and sister, firstly, we made some hip hop and covers of 2 unlimited, while recording it on tape during our imaginary radio m-14 sessions. then we played some hardcore stuff in front of our parents and grandparents, i remember the words were kill and gently caress. they didn't leave folks very impressed. but to me it was hot. but, even, earlier i heard my aunt playing piano, which was fascinating for me and could bring me to tears. so, since then i knew i'm gonna be into music, one way or another.

anyways, nice to meet you, young composers!

Hey there, kids! It's me! You can put your pitchforks down now...

Well, then! I'm, as evident, the man known as Johnny Fawkes. I'd been messing around with composing for several years now. It all started when I had the brilliant idea to become a video game designer. I began messing around with that nonsense and incidentally fell upon composing music for my game projects: all of which fell through like John Candy trying to sneak over a warehouse skylight. My hopes and dreams were shattered in much the same manner but my musical aptitude remained, thankfully. It wasn't until recently, however, that I began to take interest in music theory. It was learning how to play guitar that sparked my relentless curiosity and AWAY I WENT on a blind foray into the field of self-taught theory. I've now officially become a music major and hopefully will find a career as a soundtrack composer for movies or video games.

I'm currently in the process of learning piano and guitar. I've been playing drums for around four years now and am beyond proficient there. I've played for four separate rock bands, two worship bands at churches, and am probably one of the best Guitar Hero players you'll meet.

I'm fairly stoked about having been introduced to this community so I'll try to be pleasant. ;)

N.B. I'm gratuitously facetious and will commonly refer to myself using variable genders, personas or otherwise.

hi...guyz im a new member here....

hi...guyz im a new member here....

yo...youz shure is a nu-membur herre wellcome an' i shure hopez u stik arund!!!!

After an encounter with the shoutbox, I think it's about time I create a proper introduction for myself. =O

I am mathgrant; if you insist on calling me a shorter name than that, I prefer math, Grant, or mg. Despite rumors to the contrary, I am not a stoner, but merely a furry. =^^= Additionally, I also have Asperger's Syndrome. D: I have two friends on this forum: Cyril, who introduced me to YC, and Johnny Fawkes, whom I introduced.

I compose music purely as a hobby. Aside from my parents taking me to some piano-teaching lady to try to teach me piano, I've never had any formal music training. Much to the chagrin of probably everyone here, though, I've never had the drive to learn any instrument; however, I did get some valuable music theory out of the whole thing, and I started loving music more because of it. So. . . yeah.

Sheesh, I'm kinda shy and self-conscious about being here. . . Cyril insists I have more credentials than he does, but I dunno. D:

Just joined, although I'm not so young. I taught music for 20 years and am presently a Children's Pastor. I have song written and composed a lot and have had some national exposure of my pieces. Anyone know any online masters programs in composition I can look into? Just wondering.

Hey everyone, my name is Meghan. I really don't compose music, but I have written a few songs (lyric wise that is):innocent:. They' re alright. I'm in my second year of high school. I'm in the chorus, I'm an alright singer, but I want to take lessons to get better. Thet's pretty much it.

Hey, I'm Alia. I've been playing classical guitar for 4 years now, but I learned how to play 5 years ago. I haven't been practicing lately because I'm soooooooo busy with my schoolwork. I'm taking up Bachelor of Science in Geology here in the Philippines, although my prime interest for now is really music. I also play the violin and the piano (a bit) and I'm self taught. My musical influences (or simply put, artists I listen to) include classical composers such as Tarrega, Sor, Antonio Lauro and Gulliani, and rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Creed, Alter Bridge, Jimi Hendrix, Yellowcard, and a lot more. I also love compositions by Joe Sariani and Eric Johnson, and I love watching videos of the G3 jams. I listen to Blues (BB King <3) Jazz and Rock. As for the lyric writing, no one tops Bob Dylan.

Welcome to Meghan and Alia. Hope you stick around!

;)

Welcome to the forums everyone! The Force is strong here!

Hey,

My first post here. I'm a drummer who has a large appetite for new music/interesting listening experiences. I'll give anything a good listen because I find all music to be inspirational. I've been dabbling in composition for the past months and hope put together a serious work by the summertime. I've also been lurking here for awhile and I must say this is one of the best resources on the web, especially the lessons section - very helpful. Hope I can contribute to the forum.

Hello there, I'm Emmanuel, I'm 19 years old and I'm from Dominican Republic. I'm a self taught guitarist and I've been playing for two years now. I like classical music, some jazz and a lot of metal. I'm here basically to expand my musical knowledge and become a better composer.
