Hi everyone!! I'm Christie from Mauritius (some tiny sunny island in the Indian Ocean!!!!!). I'm 19 and have been composing since childhood. I have been influenced by different styles although having received a Classical music education has had a considerable impact on my music. I play the Piano:)

This site is pretty cool, I guess I'll put some of my compositions online (well I'm a bit of a perfectionist so it's taking me a loooooot of courage to do that:toothygrin:)

Anyway, apart from that, I'm a French native speaker, I love cooking, reading (Tolkien, Pullman other fantasy, science magazines), love social sciences and love brownies and waffles................:P

I'd love a few comments about my music..thanks!

Welcome. Actually, I hear nothing other than good stuff about Mauritius, and how it's probably the only truly good country in Africa to live in. Port Louis looks pretty either way.

Hello. My name is Bekah and I just joined. I am currently in high school. I play 10 instruments. I am in band, choir, and orchestra. My main instrument is viola. Before you start with the jokes, I have most likely heard them. I am also in marching band and was the drum major this past year.

I am going to be attending Butler University this upcoming fall. I am going into Music Education.

I have been singing since I was three and have always found music to be interesting to me on so many levels. When I find a piece of music that just makes me feel a certain way, I am hooked forever.

Wanna know more? I am open to questions.

Why do you compose?

Hi, my name is Amanda. I'm 15 and I LOVE music. I've been drumming since I was nine, and learned 4 other instruments since then. I have also started composing this year and it's really coming along. Right now I'm composing a symphony for a brass quartet and in the second third and fourth movements an orchestra. Always looking for people to play my pieces. Email me! I'd love to hear from other musicians and composers.

Thanks

Amanda

Hi everyone,

It's a pleasure to be a part of your forum. I'm a composer and teacher from Canada and have been professional for quite some time. I look forward to the participating and I hope I can assist with questions regarding composing, recording, typesetting and other actions that we have to deal with in this profession.

Hello welcome :D i`d like to ask a question :D i want to start as a incidental composer or make incidental music :P and im wondering where to start? :D

Start by posting on the "INTRODUCE YOURSELF" thread and also by not using smilies instead of punctuation.

I'm just posting because this is page 200.

Hi everyone...

i'm quite excited about joining this forum. i play piano, clarinet, and sing competitively. i'm also starting guitar next week. i haven't fully composed a contemporary song yet (i've written a few little classical tunes), but have my first real project on the go.

Hello, Im Genji. I am a 16 year old male from Virginia. I play Clarinet and I am self-learning Piano and Mandaolin. I have written only two songs so far on Finale Notepad. It is a pleasure to meet all of you.

Hello, I'm Tom. I am 17 years old, play trombone, and hope to major in music education. I have very little composition experience, but I'm hoping to change that here :].

Hi everyone! I'm a college music student... interested in musical theatre composition.... usually write for piano and voice, but I'm trying to branch out into other instruments, so I thought this might be a good place to lurk around. :)

Hi, I'm Hanne, I'm from the UK and I'm in my last year of school.

I play piano, violin and I sing and I hope to go to Manchester University in September to study music in general. I'm not sure exactly what I want to do yet because I love all aspects of music, but in particular, performing and composing.

Welcome new members!!!!!!!!!!

stay around:)

Hello, my name is Kyle Swartz and I'm a junior at York High School in Yorktown, Virginia. I play french horn and mellophone. I'm currently playing trumpet for my school's jazz band also. I am marching with Carolina Crown this summer and plan to until I ageout. I am planning on going to James Madison or George Mason University to major in music education and become a high school band director.

I don't have any experience with music theory or writing. I just write in my free time and mess around with Finale.

Hi. My name is Scott Gerweck, I am a 25-year-old composer and trumpeter based out of Salem, Oregon. I recently earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition, and am trying to establish some bit of business before pursuing graduate studies.

Please contact me freely and frequently!

Hey! My name is Eric Loux, and I'm from Lawrence, Kansas. I'm going to be a sophomore at Baker University next semester, majoring in music ed, but I like composition a lot more. I've written and finished just over 100 pieces (I've been writing for just under four years), and I've had 14 premiered. I'm also in a one-man band called Ninja Guy Dan (hence the name).

Hi! My name's Jerusha, and I'll be a 19-year old college freshman this fall(Mount Holyoke College, MA). Piano's about the only instrument I play(I'll probably re-take drums in the far future), and I hope to pick up maybe the oboe or classical guitar this year.

Well, I wish I could be a better pianist, but my motor coordinations ain't up to the piano acrobatics I wish they were ; )

I'd really love to compose something epic. Right now, I'm exploring pieces on youtube e.g. Tiersen-Glass-Satie-Delibes.

Hey people, my name is Halvor Hosar. I'm a guitarist, but am an aspiring novice composer on the side. Hopefully this forum can help me grow in the right direction :)

I'm Charity, but if you can't remember the virtue, you can call me Cha!

I'm a junior in highschool and I just started composing this year.

I play cello and piano, cello being my primary instrument, as I only took piano lessons for a year and a half in sixth and seventh grade.

I like to compose for specific people, and I use personalities as inspiration.

Which means all my friends bother me to make them songs. :P

Hi, I'm Anthony. In 10th grade. I really want to go into Christian rock, but I'm having a hard time. I can get some lyrics and a melody, but I can never compose the accompaniment to go along with it. You know, the guitar, piano and drums playing alongside the vocals. Can anyone help me? Advice on composing the instrument music?

You are so going to get bashed here, welcome anyway :shifty:

My name is Omri Lahav, (22, Israel),

I've been composing, orchestrating, performing and conducting scores for theater, indie films and computer games for the past 5 years.

(London, California, Tel-Aviv).

Highly educated in both music and sound, I own and operate "Lahav" post-production studios in Israel.

I play the Piano (16 years), guitars (10), bass (10), oud (7), accordion (6), harmonica, irish whistles, percussions (6) and sing professionally.

I am very open minded about internet collaborations if anyone here is into that .

Omri.
