Hello everyone, I'm Miguel and I'm a guitarist and vocalist. Over the past 4 years I've been trying to carve out a unique style of music that meddles into the rock/metal genre. I've played a couple of shows in a few bands, but most of my music has been expressed through a tight group of peeps I've known for quite some time, and who are now almost scattered across the country. I'm looking for new inspirations, new things to learn and particularly a place and means to start a career in music. I'm 19 and despite all of the odd God-given talents I've been handed, music and writing seems to be the only thing I've ever been passionate about.

Hi, I'm Jon. I'm in 8th grade, and live in Mt. Vernon, Maine. I didn't really know what to expect coming into this site, but when I started looking through the compostitions people have made here, I was just amazed. You people are AWESOME!!! I feel so much better knowing that I am around talented composers, even though I am not very good at it myself. But that's what I hope to change here. But anyway, I primarily play alto sax, but I also play piano, clarinet, and a little guitar. Hope to see you soon!

Hello i am Ninja Pixel (NP). I am beatmaker and composer from Moscow. Russia. I'd like to get aquainted with other composers on this forum, to share our expirience. thank you.

Hi everyone i am IRENE and i love to share with u about myself. I like to compose songs and then forget the words few minutes later. Many people don't take me so serious and i want them to realize that i can do it......

Welcome, you all. May you all be productive and avoid the likes of Poehler, who is happily long, long gone.

Hi all,

I'm Tristan.

I'm trying to create Wagnerian infinite melody using classical instruments and rock grooves.

I'm not so young in body, but the music keeps my spirit ever young.

ciao a tutti,

Hello. We've just joined this forum. Just to give you an idea on what we do.. we develop games and work with talented musicians/composers to produce original introductory pieces, ambient sounds and music with meaning for our PC/XBOX games.

We have just recently finished a learning game for Music students in Flash for HofNote.co.uk - you can play the Cool Conductor game at CoolConductor

I'd be interested in finding out if anyone here has composed music for games or film?

All the best

Jules

Greetings. My name is Andrew Wrangell. I live on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. In 2005 I was very inspired by watching one of the 'special features' on the Star Wars Revenge of the Sith DVD where I saw John Williams talking about scoring the film. I then decided that I would (try to) become a film composer. I have been writing music since I was in about grade 2. I have a very long way to go, so I listen to most fantastic pieces of music. I have taken piano lessons since I was five years of age and am currently preparing for my first set of letters. I'm very interested in composing for film (as mentioned above) and video games, particularly classical-style music featuring the orchestra. I think classical music (as in the broad sense of the word, not just the classical period) is the most intellectually advanced music to be found and requires higher order thinking to process as well as compose. I particularly enjoy the works of Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Bach and Beethoven as well as modern classical-style composers such as John Williams. A friend recommended this website to me and I think it would be a fantastic place to receive feedback on my compositions. I'll see you in the forums.

Andrew.

Hi, I'm Johannes from Germany. I'm currently studying computer science in Bonn, and I like to combine musicology with physics and mathematics, but don't get me wrong here: I prefer playing and composing rather intuitively, while trying to understand music rationally. I found this forum when I searched the internet for the term "microtonality", the topic which I'm currently interested most in.

I like classical music, film and video game soundtracks, certain kinds of Heavy Metal and experimental music. My main instrument is a custom electric guitar with 8-strings, and I'm planning to draw "frets" on a fretless guitar according to the 53-tone equal temperament (a nearly pefect approximation of both Pythagorean tuning and 5-limit just intonation). My hope is to find people who like to discuss microtonality.

HI, I'm new to this website, although I first started officially composing a few years ago when I was 13. I play the piano (somewhat), cello, and I sing. I have written several cello solos, a women's choir piece, an experimental string orchestra piece, and am currently working on a harp solo for a harpist friend of mine. Once I begin to post my works, I would love to receive feedback and advice so that I can improve.

hi,

i started composing around a few years ago, in middle school, liked it and kept at it, w/o anyone knowing, and all my music was odd, and ill-formed, and now i am actually improving enough, though addmittiedly without guidance, to feel comfortable posting pieces here, after listening to the for some time now.

Hey everyone,

I used to post here under a different name, but that was a long time ago... I am a 19-year old studying composition, music performance and ethnomusicology. I play clarinets of various sorts and piano, and also play 5 or 6 other instruments at a very basic level. I'm staying at home this summer to try to hone my compositional skills, so will probably be hanging around this forum quite a bit. I'm really interested in questions of how music can (or can't) convey messages and identities, and am prone to talk about such things for hours on end. Tralala! It's good to be back.

Welcome! As long as you aren't Baroquefantastic then I think you and I will get along just fine. Hope you stick around! :D

Hi - i'm a fifteen year old high schooler from KC, MO. I've been composing (w/o writing it down) since i was VERY little. However, i discover finale notepad last year, and have been writing down all the good stuff in my brain down..which is less than half of what's up there!

Hi. I'm Gibb! Im a music and i love composing music....

You're a music?

Is that some sort of spin off religion of Budism?

Regardless, welcome.

Hey all!

I'm Pete from Finland and I've been producing electronic music for several years. Styles include trance, techno, drum&bass, downtempo, ambient. Recently I've been contentrating on downtempo with some orchestra sounds blended in.

I'm looking forward to get to know you guys better! :)

Hello, everyone. I came across this site yesterday, and joined literally a couple minutes ago. This seems like a great site for many reasons. For one, people are actually serious about music here, which I think will be great for me and my own musical growth :)

At any rate. I'm 17 years old (18 soon), and my main (and only instrument) is the piano. I haven't been playing for too long, but I quickly developed a passion for it. It's something that I want to continue for the rest of my life.

I just started my first composition a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at it yes. Composing, improvising, and playing by ear are not my strengths. I'm basically a performer. But I hope to finish my composition soon and keep moving from there :) And I also want to get better at the piano.
