Hi, I am Elif from Turkey (call me ellie :)) I have been playing the violin sice I was 3 (my mom and dad wanted me to learn it...not me) Now, I have started to learn playing the piano for about 6 months but my teacher says I am quite talented about piano...I really wanted to become a pianist...

(I finished all of Chopin's waltzes in six months...I guess that's someting good)

Anyway, i'm mostly posting here because I find it funny that Chopin has a wife now. GO CHOPIN #2 has a spouse woohooo!

Be nice DOFTS....especially to new members...

Hey guys, I'm CK. I'm primarily a bass player (7 strings) though have the keyboard skills to program other instruments if need be. I'm from Scotland and am now living in China playing for a band. My passion is composition in all styles and have amassed a large, exstensive library of original pieces. now I'm looking for ways into visual media, ideally video games.

Looking forward to learning and imparting advice where possible.

Hi y'all:

My name is Mike (well, it's Mikael really but Mike is fine). I'm an amateur composer and pretty fresh and new to all this. However, I'm learning a lot all the time..

I would call myself a classical composer, although I seldom adhere to the rules for classical composition... lots of fantasias, you know :) . When it comes to listening, I like anything really... For me genres are less important then the actual musical pattern, - either way, I would generally listen to classical (filmmusic included), punk, and "alternative".

I play a bit of guitar, violin and piano...but I'm no musician yet.

If interested have a listen to some of my stuff:

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

All the best,

Mike

I'm Vaughn! I'm a good person to have around.

Well, we certainly need some good people to have around, now don't we?

Welcome aboard, mate.

Don't let DOFTS scare you too terribly much. He's a softie at heart, really.

Hey guys, I'm CK.

Hi I'm Joe. :) I play piano. So far I've only composed for piano(except for some strings stuff) but now I'm starting to broaden my choice of instruments.

Hi, I'm 17 from New Jersey and just about the only musical experience I have is playing the trumpet, and a small bit of music theory knowledge. I can't sing for the life of me but I've been playing the trumpet for about eight years now and I like to consider myself pretty good. Composing, on the other hand, is something that I am completely new to and excited to learn.

Hi ,

My name is Nick. I am a composer from Montr

Welcome to all :)

Newzik: I checked out your music on myspace and liked what I heard :D

"A bad or negative comment is as good, if not better than a positive one, because it leads me toward tweaking weaker skills..." You'll be liked here :D

My name is Jader Santos I am a brazilian pianist, composer and arranger. Have been using FINALE for quite a long time. Good to share and receibe new ideias here.:D

don't mind Corbin, he's in heat

Hey, I'm Tyler (or whatever you feel like calling me). I'm 17, and I play bassoon, oboe/Eng. horn, flute/picc, among other things. I'm about to go to college in Idaho, but I live in Washington.

I've not really been composing for very long, though I've arranged things for at least 4 years now. Right now, I'm mostly exploring counterpoint and fugues. I'm still using Finale NotePad, but I'm holding off on buying Finale or Sibelius until I can find out what my comp professor wants students to buy.

I mostly have a penchant for writing for double reed ensembles. It's odd; I try to write for other groups and I find I just can't finish anything.

So yeah, me in a nutshell. =)

Hi, my name is Nathan. I'm currently studying at the local conservatory, receiving lessons in composition, whilst trying to gain experience in as many styles and techniques as I can.

Hi. I'm 21 and I've been composing intermittently for about 6 years. However, as I've resumed playing piano I've found myself more seriously interested in composition and so I decided to join this community hoping to learn as much as possible.
