You know, I registered here nearly two years ago...completely forgot about this place among the confusion of high school, finding colleges, and everything else. Now, I find myself returning here, heh.

I also found I never properly introduced myself so...

I am Kyle Solii and am a current music student at Columbus State University with a vocal focus. I compose mainly choral and piano compositions, but I find myself experimenting with other instruments from time to time.

Hi all. I'm new here. I've been searching for a while for a nice composition forum and I'm really liking the look of this place.

I play the guitar, piano (and keyboard), harmonica, pan flutes, bass guitar, drums, and I sing in the choir, but I only really compose for the guitar, piano, and choir, with a much greater focus on piano. Mostly solo piano works, although I'm thinking of writing a symphony for my senior project.

I'm a South African living in the US, California to be exact.

Hello, my name is Travis though I wish it were something spectacular such as Benjamin Britten. Composition to me is the essence of all that can exist in the world. How else can it exist? I am at heart a baritone though I did wish to train as a countertenor for the longest time. I have been composing for a short stretch of time and am interested in any genre---song-cycle, orchestral, choral, wind ensemble. I must say however that I desperately need help in any way on the art of composition for admittance into a college with a good music program (I already have the schools picked out) as I wish to be a Composition Major. I without doubt posess the proper theoretical knowledge to compose, but things such as composing inside my head baffles me. Help would be exceedingly appreciated.

Hi everyone. My name is Valentin and I'm 17 years old, a Senior in high school. I've only been composing for about two years and have been playing the piano for the same amount of time. I taught myself mostly everything I know about music through reading. And I just started taking a piano class in school. I try to be as versatile as possible but I feel the most comfortable with Hip Hop but I've also done plenty of R&B, Classical, Salsa, Reggaeton, and some Blues. I am very dedicated to music.

I first started composing 5 years ago but the results were, to me, at least, dissappointing. Now, though, I am dissappointing myself less and less.

My favorite composers are Vaughan Williams and Holst (I love British music), Ravel, and Rimsky Korsakov. I try to emulate their styles frequently but some of my own voice always pops through and ruins it all... ;) Though I try to write sensitive and subtle music like they did, it always ends up a little too perky or bright, but that's just me. I'm working on it.

My primary instruments right now are double bass, saxophone, keyboards, and guitar.
