Desert Coffin

Featured Replies

Your feet locked in quicksand, the faster you try to move, the quicker you sink... what else can you do but pray?

Desert Coffin

Stay calm. Call for help. Try to grab a stick outside the quicksand. These would be my first choices :P

Creepy! I like a lot of your note choices.

Good instrumentation. The synth is pretty modern televisiony, which is cool. Nice harmony at 1:43.

Did he make it out?

Well done, Sepharite! Quite enjoyable!

Pretty spooky! More than I had anticipated from the title. Those 'trembeling' sounds (them whatchacallem) near the end... It sounded to me like a RAPTOR dying in a puddle of quicksand, calling for help with his last breath (0:55-end). Sad scene :(

Very nice.

Hey man,

This is really nice, I especially like the plucked string sounds (I am guessing harp and guitar, but maybe some pizz strings too? :P)

Good use of synth pads etc, nicely panned too.

Only one comment: the guitar is kind of imitated by some pad, but it has some delay before you can hear it, I think that was kind of annoying to me, it would be better if you would keep that pad apart from the main melody and give it some 2ndish melody :P

John: Thanks! He didn't make it out, he was in stick-free quicksand :( Glad you like the harmony at 1:43, I changed it a couple of times.

Roy: Thanks... wait, raptors!? xD

Jij: Those are manipulated guitar sounds, with some nice phaser effects. I'll take out the pad, experiment a little. Thanks for the comment.

Sepharite!

Great track. Extremely moody and well executed.

Issues: I was feeling more of a chill than an oppressive desert heat in this mix. That lead violin/synth thing was extremely grating and not in a desert sand sort of way. It was more like icicle scraping on something. The mix is also very top-heavy — where's the bass? So in short I would have liked to hear less high-end and more low end in the mix and it would have been cool if the instruments were more interestingly placed. It's all pretty dead-on right now, not a lot of spacing in the soundscape.

Cool though. Very good sound painting, I just think you used a few colours that I didn't like so much. :) Keep sharing and commenting!

Hello Everyone, just sharing, listening to a sound in above, a little bit spooky but matched for a horror movie topic by new_windowbelajar bisnis

Very nice. The guitar is my favorite part; it really solidifies the emotional impact of what is going on. It kinda brings a tear to your eye.
