Hey Hylander.

Cool track.

The samples at 0:14 felt a little unconvincing. Perhaps you can humanize the midi at that point, adjusting the timings so that the instruments aren't playing perfectly in time with another.

The pedal tone with the bass is awesome. Works really well. Gives the piece a lot of tension.

Wow. I'm not sure if this is a good thing, but it's definitely cool. At 1:00, a bass drum sounded like it was being hit in the back of my head.

A neat, subtle, and tense cue. You fit the synth in pretty well. Can you stagger it a bit more so it's not playing for so long? Maybe throw in another synth in between that original synth. Something to break up the repetition at the end.

Care to give us a bit more detail on what you were trying to achieve with your experimenting?

Peace on Earth,

-John

Someone watched Inception :).

Nice cue, I don't understand why it's experimental though.

Haha this gave me a little "Fort Boyard" feeling. especially the parts from 1:00, sounds nice! hmm I think it would work well in a reality show or something. Cool track!

I dig it. Haha, it does make me think of Inception just a little. But more than that I think it reminds me of certain tense moments from the Firefly soundtrack. Great job!

Very cool track!

I think your tambourine from 1:12 on is a little too loud in the mix, you should turn it a bit down (maybe give it a bit more reverb) so that it would sound a bit more distant to fit in the rest of your track.

But I really like it, great sound!

Overall I think it's a pretty cool track. It could go with a lot of different kinds of cinematic scenes, I think. I would recommend modifying your background noises a bit, though. For the first minute there's something that sounds like static, and it's a cool sound, but I would recommend moving it around a bit. Maybe have its velocity and/or pan position gradually fluctuate while it's playing. I would make a similar recommendation for the background sound in the second minute; its constant back and forth panning sound got a little annoying, though I did like the rhythm that it added to the piece.

I liked the electronic sound that was panning. But I heard it too much in the left side. I would have liked a better balance in the panning from left to right. I agree about the tambourine comment. It felt too dry and loud.

The ending was too dull, I think a build of tension and crescendo at the end would have helped.

Is this meant to be music for the film highlander (just looking at your name) cause I could see it fitting into that movie what with the blend of the old more orchestral bit and the electronic sounds for the newer edge.

Still wondering how was it experimental though?
